Many coventarians want ccfc to lose matches (1 Viewer)

It is a wierd situation to be in.

I definately want Coventry to win but there is that niggle at the back of my mind that says 'We've won - I really hope that doesn't draw more fans to sixfields'. It is more of a bittersweet feeling than anything else. The opposite situation is also true that if Coventry lose I am gutted but the back of my mind is again saying 'Hopefully that will drive attendance down'.

Strange times......

No we don't they're fans wanting the best for the club, they're focusing on the long game. Grow up FFS

This is just silly, how can losing and getting relegated be for the best for the club? What have you been smoking??

I think people just think that if we get relegated that SISU would just think 'oh that didnt go to plan, lets cut our losses'. Isnt going to happen people!! There are here whether you like it or not!

Exactly. Win promotion (unlikely, but say it happens) the loss of revenue is amplified massively (we'd average 16K minimum in the Championship at the Ricoh). Seeing as most have convinced themselves that withholding our money is the best weapon we have, then you'd think they'd all be desperate for the team to keep winning. After all, they must realise NOPM was never going to work quickly, so surely it would be better we start next season in the Championship than League 1?

I've never been to Sixfields and won't go to see 'home' games there. I have no idea what the stadium looks like. In the unlikely event of Sky Blues getting promoted, does Sixfields conform to whatever rules the Championship have regarding stadia?

Give me strength, this isn't my view, it's what those who have stated they want City to lose are saying. Do you even read posts before making your mind up on a response.

To understand people's stance try to understand their perspective.

Surely no Coventry fan either side of the fence (nor those with splinters in their backside) want the club to lose games?

If so, is it through some kind of misguided nonsense that us losing games would see us be rid of the SISU regime? Or is out of pure spite in some bizarre bid to show how much of a superfan they are?

It reminds me of Barry from the film Four Lions wanting to blow up a mosque to help the Jihad.

Read the OP and those afterwards. I've listened to this view in the world o/s SBT as well (yes it does exist).
People see it as a way of accelerating the decline to rid the club of SISU. A form of tough love.
Do I think it could work, it's certainly has as much merit as any other theory postulated on here.
Do I want my club to lose, no but I admit its less painful than it was.

I'm off to watch Four Lions then and treat it as the serious dramatisation it was meant to be I guess. That Barry was a clever cookie/modern day hero/superb strategist.
