When you look back over his tenure here, he's certainly had to put up with some horrendous issues. He's been fantastic for us and is far better than we/sisu could have hoped for.
Maybe DK can back him with some investment in the pre season and he can show what he's really capable of.

Other than not using subs when we're crying out for them, he's hardly put a foot wrong on the balance of things.

If we didn't get him after Slade, I dread to think where we'd be, that's if we'd of even existed.

Appreciate older fans will have managers in higher esteem, but you could argue Mark Robins has kept CCFC alive so should always be regarded as one of our best managers ever.

If we'd have got him instead of slade , we'd probably have had chance of staying up first year , albeit still small

Think the majority would put him up there (particularly given the circumstances. George and John, obviously, and Jimmy Hill was a visionary.

He's definitely one of the clubs best most successful managers

If he manages to take us to the Premier league then he goes to new levels
100% agree. With the backing and resources he's had It's hard not to see him as one of the most successful managers we have had. So many others would have thrown in the towel and moved on but he's stuck it through. The game has changed a lot since our other legendary managers were in charge.

He’ll probably leave then and go into tv…

Robins has been allowed to build the foundations all be it slowly football clubs need, how many times have we seen managers fired in this division because they lose something like three on the trot.
It looks like with the backing of the new owner that will continue, we have had new coaches, a new player recruitment network three of which being full time scouts, a director of football, new U/18s manager. At last we are looking to be a properly run football club. It must have been bloody frustrating trying to run ccfc as a top pro.club with those clowns owning us.

Well I go back as far as Noel Cantwell. He took us to 6th in the top flight and Europe. Gordon Milne 7th, George and John won the FA Cup. Jimmy Hill so far has to be our greatest ever manager but if Mark Robins takes us to the Premier League given what he started with and what he’s had to contend with then I think he surpasses the great man.

If he was somehow able to push us into the play offs and got into the prem, he’d go above Jimmy Hill imo. Snoz is still on another level. We’d have won cup winners cup with him if not for the scousers. Mechelin won it that year

Nah, if he actually got us to the PL with all the adversity and our budget in this league, he’d probably be our best ever.

Amazing how adaptable he’s been as well. 442 in league 2, then various combos of 4/5 at the back since then.

Also been impressed with how ruthless he’s been in trying to improve the squad each year within the constraints he’s under - I don’t always agree with his transfer/selection decisions, but more often than not you can understand what he’s trying which I appreciate.

As we managed to get straight back up, going down probably helped us.

Seen every manager from hill and all the crap from sisu ,the question is would anyone of the previous managers have managed like robins and achieved the same results.

Good post Evo.

At 300 games, MR has overtaken JH (290) and is closing in on Gordon Milne (334). Long way to go to catch up with the legendary Harry Storer but soon will be our second longest serving manager in terms of games managed.

In terms of win %s for managers with more than 100 games - only JH and HS are ahead.

MR is in any discussion already when we talk about our greatest managers.

Silletts overall record as a coach and a manager both here and at his other clubs is incredibly impressive

Regis in his book lavished praise on him and said he’d saved his career.

Although his time was probably up when he left he should have been given a job within the club. Everything he’d built literally fell apart as soon as he left.

If Mackay hadn’t bought him back into the club as soon as that fool Gould was sacked we’d not be here now

Had we of not lost him the first time I honestly feel we would have got to the Premiership, maybe even that season we lost him

You also have to wonder what could have been had SISU not listened to the fans and gone with him rather than Thorn.

A cat could have done a better job than Thorn and Slade.
Thorn was a disaster and should have gone in September of that season. It was obvious he was going to take us down at them point. Anyone daring to criticise him got loads of abuse for it though...not that anyone would admit to it now, of course.

Of course the flip side is that loyalty from the board also means Robins has been rock solid, and Kenny Jackett never got a look-in.

Short answer is no with the exceptions being JH and JS. I was also a big fan of the Gordon Milne teams.

I just wish we'd had MR vs. Big Ron and Strachan in the crazy spending days. Big Ron was a disaster and was only here on a fast diminishing reputation, Strachan seemed to always play his favourites, never addressed the defensive issues and 100% failed to evolve the team. And employed sub standard coaches.

On the other hand, MR is ruthless season over season and consistently evolves both his coaching staff and team.

And anyone on here calling for taxis for Robins on the basis of a temporary run of poor form - I'd ban for life.
