You can sign any player before the window i beleive. Just can't become official until the window opensAh yeah I forgot he’s not playing for an NZ clubEither way how do we go about securing a player before the window opens? Can you sign like a pre-contract contract or something?
Sheaf +Stamenic double pivot, stick Torp in front of them, Wright/EMC and Sakamoto on wings. Sounds good to meTwo holding midfielders who would normally be expected to be in the first team seems unlikely, so the assumption has to be that Sheaf is off. In which case we should be making a profit, and hopefully an upgrade

You can sign a player any time, they just don't become eligible to play until the next window opens. You can sign any player before the window i beleive. Just can't become official until the window opens
Worry in what way? I think our direction is the most positive it’s been in decades. Can't help but worry about the direction of the club...

...easy, tiger. He’s not bad looking either
the best way to maximise sheaf's value is for him to play for us, and help us get promoted. The point is that we won’t be in a position to maximise the value as much as you could do this summer.
Done deal or not, I’m just thinking logically here: where would we be getting £5.5 mil from without at least expecting an incoming fee for a player we have?
Think we have to be realistic, here. It could indicate that Sheaf is indeed on his way, and that’s it’s been done under the radar.
I can already see a lot of disappointment to come, if this is the case, as I’m seeing many of us still expecting Sheaf to be here alongside Stamenic.
I nominate @SaddlebrainsRight come on then... which one of you dossers is spending the day in the bush outside Ryton?
We never spent the hamer money ?
It’s all guess work. None of us on here know what money has actually been spent from previous transfers etc or what the club have to spend, and I’d rather keep it that way.Done deal or not, I’m just thinking logically here: where would we be getting £5.5 mil from without at least expecting an incoming fee for a player we have?

Giving me Sheaf but with better passing range vibes.
Firstly. Its €5m so around £4m. I also get the impression King is more happy to subsidise fees for players than increase the wage budget. If you spend 4m on a 22 year old now then the likelihood is that you will be able to sell them on for more. Signing a 30 year old on 20k per week is not an investmentDone deal or not, I’m just thinking logically here: where would we be getting £5.5 mil from without at least expecting an incoming fee for a player we have?

How so?We never spent the hamer money ?
Or we keep Sheaf and become formidable in the middle of the park!If Stamenic and Browne come in, and we sell Sheaf for say 12-14M.
That will leave us with Torp, Stamenic, Eccles, Allen and Browne competing for the 2-3 positions in the team. Pretty strong.
It will also give us some cash to get in more quality additions. CB, WF and LB.
TrueHow did we get Kitching Torp and EMC then?
Thats because its only a rumour, hence the thread titleCan’t see this confirmed?
Eccles and one of only EMC & Wright. A lot of talent sitting on the bench. Doubt if we will have that luxurySheaf +Stamenic double pivot, stick Torp in front of them, Wright/EMC and Sakamoto on wings. Sounds good to me
