We just need one experienced vocal organiser who has the respect of the players

Agree, we need a Terry Yorath or a Dave Mackay type player, you wouldn't mess with them Two.

Red Star had a board meeting where a picture was taken of a whiteboard with their incomings and outgoings on. Stamenić was on there for 4M so possibly a bit cheaper than reported in first place

About £3.4 million then.

Which one of them is the goalie?
Glazer. Can't see us paying that for a keeper though. Especially as we always seem to cheap out on keepers.

Looks like Red Star are/could be losing a lot of talent.

Looking at Stamenic’s highlight reel again, seems almost too good to be coming to the 2nd tier of English football.
His movement, vision, awareness, tackling, strength and effortless long range passing are very, very good.

If he signs for us, IF, it could be a real coup.

What would that mean? Do Red Star owners have any other clubs? Could mean being sold to a club in same group
Think you're probably right. 777 Partners appear to be majority shareholders and they have several clubs including Genoa, Standard Liege and Hertha. Still think this kinda shit is dodgy tbh.

Actually 777 own Red Star FC, a French third division team. That'll teach me to rush my research.
In conclusion... fuck knows.

A

Statement if we did though
Again, unless we sell an asset (Sheaf mainly) where else will this money come from? I cannot see Doug being willing or perhaps able to bankroll such expenditure.

Don’t mean to be cynical, here, but I think a dose of reality is needed, where these rumours are concerned.

We can’t be the only club who have scouted these players, and the presence of Stamenic and his teammate Glazer in London doesn’t exactly fill me with optimism in our apparent interest in the former.

We’ve blown all the Vik and Gus money. There is no more from player sales to reinvest into the team and operating costs/wages etc.

I firmly believe that if we do sign Stamenic, or any other player, expect to see Sheaf gone before or soon after it’s announced.

You keep saying blown all that money, as if we’ve pissed it down the toilet. Except we’ve invested it in some decent players.

Also, is your persistent questioning on where the money is coming from rhetorical or do you actually want an answer? Can’t say that sort of thing actually bothers me. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. If we have the money, we have the money. If we don’t, we don’t. C’est la vie

No it doesn't at all. You have no idea what actual money is involved in these transfers, or the previous ones. So if we sign these players and sheaf stays what then? Will you be crying because you believe we are overspending when you really know nothing about the clubs finances in general

You’re right. The money we’ve spent on the players we will double or even triple our money if we manage things right.

We’re not in control of these events, if we have to let a player or two go to bring in the 8 or so player we need, then it’s a trade we need to make.

‘Blown’ is just an expression, IE ‘gone’ or ‘all spent’. Quite a hasty assumption you made, there.

Rhetorical, I suppose. My aim is to lower expectations in case we don’t actually end up being able to sign anyone, and this rumour of a dazzling DMF we’re signing is subterfuge for a larger club signing him. 👍🏻

Think you need to calm down, as well.

Not my problem, if you can’t read between the lines, and wish to make absurd claims based on someone trying to lower expectations in case the rumours are bullshit and we lose Sheaf anyway. 👍🏻

Incidentally, you’re right, I don’t know anything about the clubs finances, dealings, fees etc. I’m going by what’s been stated in the press, and on here, so level your snidey, ignorant keyboard warrior remarks generally, if that’s the case.

Unless you’re just out to act like a tosser at everything you disagree with?

Blown is used to express all your money is gone, sure. But it’s used when the money was spent on unnecessary things. Hardly a hasty assumption, that’s just how that “expression” is used.

Quite the martyr. Count my expectations thoroughly suppressed.

People should remember that transfer fees are rarely paid in full in one go. We will still be owed some for Gyok and Hamer and we will likely still owe some on Wright and Simms. So trying to figure out what our kitty is would be pretty futile.

On the contrary I was merely interpreting your own words. If you want to be negative and work with hypothetical then fill your boots. And it seems the only one struggling with different opinions is yourself.

Pretty sure Doug is willing to lend the club money. Remember investing in players creates saleable assets. Look at Brighton.

It's not that difficult, to be fair. What's harder is knowing the exact fees in the contracts and the bonuses & conditions.

By my fairly shonky maths based on public numbers (likely inflated), we've already committed the vast, vast majority of last year's transfer income from Vik & Gus.

I don't think we are running an operation where the owner will bankroll the club based on players that haven't been sold yet - but perhaps future income from ticketing/tv etc because these tend to be more stable. So, I'd suggest there's some incremental funds to spend, but nothing huge... let's see!

Completely agree, none of non-ITKs really know what deals have been done and what King’s mission or goal with the club is.

People also forget that maybe King actually wants to pump some of his own money in for transfers in order for us to get to the prem. I don’t think any of us know how much cash he has or hasn’t got but if he’s treating the club as a long term venture then there’s no reason why a strong investment now may not reap rewards in the future. I think most businesses lay down a fair amount of cash before they see returns on that investment, maybe King will do the same? None of us can say true or false either way in my view.

ture.
if we buy someone for £5m that doesn't mean doug is writing a cheque for £5m any time. payments are made over time. ditto if we sell someone. we can only guess at what money is owed to us, and what we owe to others. stop trying to work it out, you'll only get it wrong.

The topic of guessing what the club has to spend is interesting (and refereshing given our previous dire circumstances), but only the club know for sure and speculation, that we are linked to some exciting talent serves to whet the appetite regardless.

To add to the topic of finances though, I don't think anyone has mentioned it seems highly likely at some point soon that we'll be recipients of the sell on clause in the Gyokeres deal. A sum Doug may choose to bank on and justify funding a punt at the prem next season. We should rightly be excited at the possibilites just now!
