After losing Giles why didn’t robins recall him ? Reid was gonna be sent back on loan then got injured but I don’t get why we didn’t bring mason back being as at times we change to a flat 4,of mccallum picks up an injury we have no cover at left back in a season we are fighting for survival 🤷🏻‍♂️

Robins obviously doesn’t have any confidence in Mason otherwise he would have been recalled, I guess he will be off at the end of the season.

It’s poor to not bring back mason as back up by robins shame we injured the new Scottish lad

The terms of the loan with St Mirren might not allow a recall, particularly if they're paying his wages
Yeh this would make sense but I would have thought Robins would have just said that. I would be surprised if Robins didn't rate him enough as a player to have him at least as cover, especially as he had earned himself a new contract. I can only imagine there is something behind the scenes.

He seemed to have been made the scapegoat for the Rotherham away debacle.

I have a feeling Robins stopped trusting him when he got injured but played on till h/t at Watford in League Cup...and then a few weeks later the Rotherham game became the final straw. Ironically he wasn’t, by a long way, the worst CCFC player that afternoon.

It was a hard pick when we had mason and McCallum. I would have thought he would be recalled if we could, unless he is carrying an injury at present or the agreement does not allow it.
I'd keep Costa on the right for sure and I think Ostigarrd would be a suitable left back for this game, particularly as we don't really play a straight back four anyway. Many times when Rose or Hyam maraud forward for corners and the like, Mc.Callum was left on his own as cover and at times got away with it, but he is less physical than a Hyam or Rose in such a role play. Also that gets Mc.Fazdean back who has been missed as a leader, and Ostigarrd can then go up for those corners. I would be working on that in training. The thought of playing Shipley in such a role is miind boggling!

I'd be really concerned about pinning our hopes on a player who can't even make the St Mirren team.
Not sure bringing him back & paying his wages for the whole season just to play in 1 game would have been particularly wise & I think his social media comments when leaving won't have done himself any favours either.

Yeah if he cant get a game in the St Mirren team it sort of justifies MR decision to let him go out on loan - if he's not getting in or playing for them it seems pointless to recall him - DaCosta can play left I have seen written so simple of me back 4.....Osti to RB, Fadz & Rose in centre and DaCosta on the left ....Hyam to have a long overdue rest and be on the bench for this one.
