Hmm this is a dodgey one guys because Middlesbrough are in a false position in the league and could turn their season around at any moment. They were among the favourites for promotion before the season started. However straight after we lost 3 in a row I said that we would win the next 3 so I will stick to my guns and go for 2-1 City. King and Keogh.

Good game today although they should have scored a hat full!

At the end I have no idea what Wood was messing about at, last minute and he could have put Clarke clean through or could have run it into the corner but he kept it and then put it out for a goal kick

To be honest i think Middlesborough were by far the better team and should have won. Oh well another 3 points
Lets hope we can get something from Reading and then Norwich at home will be a big game.

Thought we were average, really impressed wirth McPake and Cameron at the back. We have a hard run of games over Christmas including QPR twice, hopefully we should still be in the mix if not the top ten by then.

Gary McSheffrey

Coventry City midfielder Gary McSheffrey has said that it was a definite penalty that led to the Sky Blues beating Middlesbrough on Saturday.

McSheffrey was brought down by Bates in the 77th minute of the game at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday and the Coventry kid who would have notched his 50th goal for City if he taken the penalty told the CT: "It was a definite pen - I took the handbrake off and got there first.

"I obviously wanted it but Kingy gave me those puppy-dog eyes so I gave him the ball and, fair play, he put it away. It was a big goal for him, you know, and it is more important that the team do well and he got a goal rather than my personal tally.
"To be honest I totally forgot that it would have been my 50th but there is always the next game."​

Marlon King

Coventry City striker Marlon King said he was glad to have opened his goalscoring account for the Sky Blues but was full of praise for Keiren Westwood's penalty save in the first half of the game against Middlesbrough.

Speaking about the penalty which he converted to give City a 1-0 win, King told the CT: "Lukas is the designated penalty taker but he was on the bench and Gary, being the kind lad that he is, handed me the ball and I wasn't going to say no. And luckily I put it in the corner and it helped us get the three points."

He added: "People want to talk about my goal but Westy's double save from the penalty was amazing - that was the difference between us coming away with a win rather than a draw or maybe even a defeat."​

Marlon King on "4 you" message
Coventry City striker Marlon King has thanked the Coventry fans and everyone at the club for making it easy for him to get back into football.

King wore a t-shirt on Saturday with "4 You" emblazoned on it and told the CT: "Everyone at Coventry has made it easy for me to come back into football.
"The 'For you' message was for the supporters, who've been great, and my wife and three kids sat in the stands."

Just watched the extended highlights:

Even if the performance wasn't that great, for the chances we had before their pen we should of been maybe 2 up. This is both positive and negative, we need to start taking some of these chances as some are from positions where we should score (2 chances doyle had where he didn't even hit the target spring to mind). Also, where the hell was wood going with the ball, simple pass inside to Clarke and bang, 2-nil game over.

Luckily this didn't cost us last weekend, but if we're not going to finish games off when we have opportunities like that then we're going to get burned at some point. Still, 3 points and I've got a bit of confidence back for next weekend as we are creating good chances. It'll be a very hard game against a very good side, I'll be happy with a draw but of we can create something I'd like to think we'll win!
