Coventry v QPR - Ricoh Arena
K.O Tuesday 28th December 12:00pm

Coventry

Aron Gunnarsson is serving the second game of a three game ban. Carl Baker who has over-come a hernia injury after having an operation in Germany so is available for selection.Marlon King, who gained some good width on the right against Cardiff. King could be shuffled out to the flank if manager Aidy Boothroyd opts to stick with the front pairing of Lukas Jutkiewicz and Clive Platt who finshed the 2-0 defeat.

Home Form: LWLWWL

QPR

QPR have no new injuries worries and have Clint Hill available to play despite him being sent off against Swansea.

Away Form: WdDDdL

My Predictions

Formation

K.Westwood
Keogh, McPake, Cameron, Wood
McSheffrey, Baker, Doyle(C), King
Platt, Lukas.J

Score 1-1 (McSheffrey)

Attendance: 17,068

Any match day predictions/banter please post here.

Clint Hill is available as he has tried to appeal his ban... when a player does this they can play untill their appeal has been accepted/declined...

I thought City were disappointing. Once QPR got to grips with the long balls into Platt and King that was that. We had no plan B. I don't think it's any surprise that we can't beat the top 6 as they are better footballing sides. I don't like City's style of play under Boothroyd. We'll grind out the odd win against mid-table sides but I don't think we are going anywhere fast. The two fullback positions also look a real weakness and O'Halloran looked well off the pace when he came on

The problem with McSheffrey is that they overloaded him down our left. Wood is playing out of position and McSheffrey was having to track back to cover. He clearly can't play that role. He was overpowered by Walker for their first goal and Wood should have been covering. There was also a real lack of pace up front and in midfield - Carsley, King, Platt all looked knackered by the final whistle

McSheffrey doesn't tackle, he is a midfielder so he should be able to track back.

Wood was getting drawn in as they had more attackers. :(

It was a disappointing defeat as we had a great first half. Its clear that we need a few more tricks up our sleeve other than the long ball. Macca and Carsley were poor today. Would have liked to see Freddie on earlier and Jukebox as Platt ran out of steam.

It was a game of 2 halves - we dominated first half but didn't put any chances away and QPR dominated the second half and put 2 of their chances away. It annoys me week in week out when Platt has opposition players climbing all over him and the ref does nothing and when we so much as breathe on opposition players who go down easily and roll around a free kick is awarded. Hate to say it but I wish we would dive more as this is the way the game is going with these shit refs.

As for our players, no-one really had a good game today, Keogh was nowhere near as good as he normally is, very very poor by his standards. Bell was pretty useless and I normally like Bell, Sheffers had a bad game, got out muscled and out paced at every opportunity and his final balls into the box were poor. Platt wasn't winning anything although this was more due to being climbed all over. King's touch was a class above as usual but needs to regain that killer finish that has previously seen him be top scorer in this division. I think Doyler was about our best player today. Good to see O'Halloran finally come into the first team after injury as we desperatly need a natural left back, I think he will be good once he is match fit. Also why did he bring on Wilson before Eastwood when we are 2-0 down???
