Surely the only people saying these prices are acceptable are ST holders . Not everyone can commit to the ST. I had an ST from 1992 till we were dragged to Northampton. My circumstances are very different now. I want to pay no more than £50 for me and the other half for a couple of football tickets!?

I take the point, but fans of our club, esp. people that buy a few match day tickets each season, aren't going to give a sh*t what other clubs are doing. All they'll see is a price rise for a bunch of games, most of which mean nothing to our fanbase.

Look at it another way. How much is the rise for those few games realistically going to bring in? Seems like such a small amount that for the frustration it's already generated, barely seems worth it. Anything that risks the momentum we built last year is a bad move.

Our fans are always moaning about that. Ultimately they want a 20m wage budget and championship players and championship matches at league two prices.

Can't you buy a match package, then use the tickets for you and your other half. Allows you to go to a few matches together for a reduced price?

This was my take too. I am someone who thinks that we should price it as fairly as possible, and would be critical of the club if they were trying to fleece fans but I am surprised by the outcry on it. It will be in line and probably less (on average) than a lot of other Championship clubs. As you said, if you went to just those 8 games (I thought it was 7 with Huddersfield TBC) you are looking at a maximum of £24 over 9 months. Season ticket prices raised by 10% (I think?) so it's only natural that ticket prices will. A lot of people saying 'This will effect the amount of games I go to this season'. £24 more than last season (worst case scenario) would mean you attend one less game than last season based purely on cost.

As someone else mentioned, people want us to be ultra competitive in the transfer market but also are outraged when we ask for £3 per ticket etc. It's a bit 'have your cake and eat it' situation.

The one area I feel it is probably fair to criticize is the amount of games and the teams chosen for Category A. I feel like they could have made it 5 and it would have felt more sensible, although I still imagine will have gathered the same level of scorn.

There is a weird feeling of entitlement and speed to be outraged going round the fanbase at the moment for things that really aren't that big a deal.

But ST holders have had an increase in what they pay, surely match day ticket buyers should shoulder some of the cost increases aswell?

Tbf there's not much in this league that doesn't make you laugh if it's deemed 'cat a'. The local games maybe? I'd rather watch us play Sunderland than Burnley, regardless of whether they've just come down.

The vocal shouty minority make a disproportionate noise. Fans who are/have been invested in the club/team are unlikely to be deterred, as this thread tends to reflect. those who say they won't be going will probably not have been attending in the first place, or if hey do have to stop attending, it will be for other reasons (possibly financial) but not because of match day increases.

I did scoff at the prices when they were announced but having seen that only Cat A has changed I realise I had no idea what the prices were last year.

The cost of anything going up is always shitty but a total increase of £24 if you were to buy an individual ticket for each game doesn't sound too drastic in that context.

Alternatively you could go to a gig or the theatre but you’ll never guess what they charge.

Won't put me off going but it is quite expensive. Cat C are just midweek games which I struggle to do because of location so if match package is similarly priced this year will probably do that.

Assuming everybody affected is broke instead of just having a moan for no reason is simplistic too.

Some people will be affected and have to moderate their attendance. Although if £3 really makes that much difference then I’d suggest going to football at all isn’t that good an idea.

Not assuming they're broke; some complaining will still go to those A games. Whatever they do or don't do, it's not up for debate that the rise has gone down badly. It feels really badly timed. Also, it seems that the same people on here criticising folks for moaning, wherever they're moaning, are the same ones wondering why the f*ck the Teams picked for A games have been chosen. Feels like a shaky argument being made, and makes it look like a bunch of financially comfortable people punching down and being snobby d*ckheads.

I think you’re missing the point, £30 was already quite pricy for a lot of people. It’s ok saying don’t by food and drink, park further away but part of the match day experience for most is a few beers, bite to eat ( not necessarily in the ground ). I’m not saying I won’t go when I can but it will make me think twice if money starts to get tight over the winter.

I can easily go to a game and not have beers and food. It's shit, overpriced beer in the ground anyway.

It's always the same argument when it comes to ticket prices. It isn't just on here and now, I have a mate who moans like shit that tickets aren't a tenner but will happily buy beers in there and bang £50 in a fruit machine.

It's just priorities I guess. I fully get it's a shit time and there are people genuinely struggling but the people who are genuinely struggling wouldn't be factoring a day on the piss and meals when they go to watch football.
