I am saddened that Godden injured. I like him and as most say, he is the best finisher at the club.

However, he's been anonymous all season, hasn't scored since Hull away and quite frankly needed a rest. This isn't the type I rest that was needed of course, but it now gives someone else a chance to step in.

Godden has been good for us but I think his time with Coventry City will be closing at the end of the season.

We should get a fee too because in league 1 he'd bang them in

Weve only got about ten players on the books in the summer. I’d be surprised if we shipped out anyone we didn’t have to. Especially as I’d expect Vik to go in the summer as well, which would leave us just Tavares and Godden.

Godden must be gutted to pick up a bad injury just as O'hare returns and Palmer is starting to looking usefully, those two could supply the type of assists that strikers dream of.

Tyler Walker to come in and score 10 in his absence.

He bangs them in in the Championship. The way we have been playing recently doesn't suit him but with our more talented midfield players returning he would be more effective. A loss for sure but great chance for Waghorn, Walker and maybe Tavares

Its a loss based on his goal record, but it could be a blessing as it will force Robins to play our best team in our best formation, whilst having midfielders who can supply Godden, he and Gyokeres have played around 30 games together and have never looked like a partnership.

What!? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hasn’t O’Hare got about 10 assists in 3 years playing as a CAM? Or have we all forgotten how abysmally bad his final ball and finishing is because he’s been out for a few months?

Some of the shite spouted on here is comedy

I think you'll find I specifically said when Palmer and O'hare were partnered together. I'd expect O'hare to be far more productive when he's got someone else to share the burden.
Please do try and keep up.

Which look like the exception to the rule.

Goddens Injury record since we've been promoted as been really poor

2020/21 - 23 championship apps (50%)
2021/22 - 24 championship apps (52%)

And now missing 3-4 months.

I think Martyn Waghorn will step up while Godden's out.
Maybe not score loads of goals, but he's shown in the last few games he can add to the team this year

I hope Waghorn and Gyokeres can rekindle what they did start of last season. While Waghorn may not score as many as we’d like I think he could be that link up player for Gyokeres

Robins clearly rates him and I don't see us signing 4 strikers in the summer so I imagine he'll stay as backup/squad player.

Unless Robins thinks he'll regain his form with a full pre season under his belt I can't see what's to gain in keeping him.
He's been an important player for us for the last few seasons but whole new strikeforce incoming in the summer I think.

Yeah I’d keep him about as backup. Still back him to get a few.

Unless we're happy with Tavares being backup, we'll need somebody.

Again though, it might be that he wants to go for more regular football.

We need a much stronger squad to be able to properly compete at the top end next season especially off the bench, we have had unfit players in the bench too many times the problem this season has been two or three injuries and we are weak, going to be interesting where Robins strengthens.

On the basis that Vik goes in the summer, along with Walker.
we sign a top centre forward, who plays the lone role

With O’Hare / Palmer / Allen competing for the attacking midfield slots.
Godden is more than good enough to be the super sub / back up.

Based on what evidence?

I cant agree on the Godden point the only game he’s been noticeable for a good reason in was Blackpool, and everyone looked good that day. He’s not been the same player this season from the get go, at the start of the season he missed quite a few and was anonymous and now even more so

Yep time to move on

Would keep him if he isn't injury prone but he is and can't keep up with the Championship physicality

Took a while to get home from Swansea and still cannot understand how Walker didn't get any minutes today.
