How do you know he can’t play at this level when he hasn’t had a chance to prove himself yet. I can see why you might say he isn’t Premier League or even Championship level. To say so definitely that he is not good enough even to fulfill Bakayoko’s current role seems harsh. It is only one level up from the standard where he was starting to excel. (Yes I know who will be laughing at the word excel)Lovely bloke, good squad member, spectacular if sporadic goals - but not top 6 Div 1 standard, and no obvious place unless Godden is injured or Robins reverts to 4-4-2. The latter is unlikely. See him on his way at the end of the season with a big thank you, not least for that wonder strike against Yeovil, even if it made no difference. He will always be remembered as part of the promotion team
Overhead kicks at Cheltenham and Notts County. His disallowed goal at Stevenage was a bit special too.Swindon at home strike was up there with that!
Unfortunately you dont score 20 plus overhead kicks in a season.Overhead kicks at Cheltenham and Notts County. His disallowed goal at Stevenage was a bit special too.
He wouldn't need to. He scored a variety in that fourth division season.Unfortunately you dont score 20 plus overhead kicks in a season.
People often get the expression
"champing at the bit wrong" wrong and say "chomping at the bit".
It's similar to when people say "the proof is in the pudding"... WRONG! It's "the proof of the pudding is in the eating"......just saying "the proof is in the pudding" makes no f**king sense whatsoever!!!
Unless it's a covert way for a spy to tell you he's hidden intel in the dessert......
Yes, an impressive 5 in 40 fourth division games! He wouldn't need to. He scored a variety in that fourth division season.
He scored nine that season and played no where near 40 lots of 90 minutes.Yes, an impressive 5 in 40 fourth division games!

You need to look at how Max started that season and how he finished it. His improvement was tremendous. If you consider his performances after the Newport game when he regained his place from JCH his impact on the team and results was tremendous. That’s still not very good though really is it. And I’m not on any side of the fence on this.

I dunno why people insist on putting him on a pedal stool, I think he's a bit of a damp squid myself. :woot:
Out of interest, would you say "Kevin Kyle certainly knows where the back of the net is!"? Because their goalscoring records for us are remarkably similar. One thing for certain he knows where the back of the net is
Champing at the bit was the original phrase, but chomping at the bit has been rapidly gaining ground since the 1930s.*champing

Depends what players and management and style you are playing for - JCH 211 career games 44 goals up to now (Kevin kyle has a better record up to now) - JCH has obviously now found the correct team and management style as he cannot stop scoring for Bristol Rovers -Out of interest, would you say "Kevin Kyle certainly knows where the back of the net is!"? Still, if you’re writing for school or for readers who are versed in English, champing at the bit is probably the safer choice.

Disbelieving person that I am, I just checked the stats and you are right, JCH did start the majority of those games. However, this does highlight that Biamou got the goals he did from a limited amount of time on the pitch. Significantly, he started the three most important games of the season, the three play off games.Again urban myth over fact. Biamou started in only 2 of the last 8 league games following the Newport game and in one of those was withdrawn at half time. Clarke Harris started in 6

His goals in limited time on the pitch were in a whopping defeat and a thumping victory when already 4 up so actually all you are saying is he had one game he had any impact on at all. The away semi final play off.
What a day to give an impact the playoff semi-final - Surly it shows he can do things on the bigger stages when the pressure is really onSwindon at home, or doesn't that count because he was on the pitch for longer?

According to Wiki, that reliable source, Kyle played 310 times and scored 68 goals in his 'career' Biamou at the various levels he has played 150 games and scored 31 goals so in terms of games and his age he hasn't played an awful lotOut of interest, would you say "Kevin Kyle certainly knows where the back of the net is!"? This is why I used 'for us'. Kyle 5 in 44, Biamou 5 in 45.According to Wiki, that reliable source, Kyle played 310 times and scored 68 goals in his 'career' Biamou at the various levels he has played 150 games and scored 31 goals so in terms of games and his age he hasn't played an awful lot
