Maybe it is down to semantics (and spin) (1 Viewer)

I have been reading the official statement and compared it with Nick's 'transcript' of the JE interview.

Official:
"We were therefore surprised and disappointed to learn that no principal investors were present and there is still no transparency as to their identity.

JE:
The group chairman of theinvestors was there, another investor was there also.

Everybody on here seems to believe a principal investor is the same as 'group chaiman', but the group chairman is not necessary an investor. And even if he is, he and 'the other investor' might only represent a very minor chunk of the total investor money in play. To spell it out, the investors Hoffman brought to the meeting might only represent 5% of the total money.

Official:
"There was a frank exchange of views. No formal offer was put on the table, which is what we had been asking for. Gary's previous indicative offer of a pound for the club is totally unacceptable.

JE:
GH gave them an offer on paper.

Did Hoffman simply hand over a copy of the first bid? That would be so arrogant I can fully understand if the chairman choose to dismis it as non existant.

Official:
"I can fully understand people being frustrated at the outcome of this meeting as it isbecoming a long and drawn-out saga.

JE:
It was a good meeting with views to moretalks!

Again words can be deceptive - in the official text the key words are: "it is becomming". So more talks are in the cards IF Hoffman presents the PRINCIPAL investor and come up with an offer worthy of negotiation.

I don't care, this board have lied to the fans far too many times, if the guy was the appointed chair, he was sent there on behalf, circa Ranson 3 years ago, no money himself but given the permission to act on behalf of the investors

Again semantics - if there is no formal offer and a price hasn't been set then how does KD know what % of the money the people at the meeting represented.
I'm still not clear why Hoffman has to produce the principal investors so long as he has proof of whatever funds are required. If Hoffman turns up with the King of Saudi Arabia then SISU are just going to bump their price!

It is a waste of time to try and analyse the 2 parties statements.

The fans will never be party to the details, all we can hope for is that both sides negotiate in good faith & conclude an agreement, eventually.

Don't forget SISU have a reputation of being very stubborn in their negotiations, so I imagine the process will go right to the wire.

Jep - the show continues. Will be interesting if Hoffmans improved formal bid next week will get him back to the table.

All of SISU investors did not turn up when they bought Coventry.

Only Iggy Pop 'as head of the investment group' turned up with Ray due to confidentiality.

So what changes? Why does tanned up Ken need to see every single member?

Takeover happens - Ken is out of a job

Takeover happens - Clouting is out of a job

Takeover happens - SISU recoup monies - they move onto the next venture - coventry is a small part of their overall business

So who are the two that talk crap and wind up ccfc fans? Clouting and Orange Deluded.

Might just be a coincidence?

Jep - neither Hoffman or Elliott are vocal. And they certainly don't spin their own case.
Must have been in a dream I heard Joe ask the fans not to protest.
