McCallum will financing the jan striker but I think Joy will go and sign the striker herself being as robins struggles in that department once she’s finished hand bag shopping ;)

Sure you didn't get your wires crossed and she's signing Haandbaag-Choping - Dutch Cameroonian striker playing in Dutch 2nd division?

Friend told me is off to Liverpool end of season deal done. His friend is an independent agent fook knows what that means but he says the deal is done. I did see him wave goodbye at full time so there could be some truth in it!;)

If he is off at the end of the season as you have been told. Why is he waving goodbye Saturday?

More likely waving to family in the stands

I keep seeing on social media and on here that the only reason he’s playing is to boost his transfer value. Is there any evidence behind this or is it because some view him as unspectacular?

I bumped into David Beckham many moons ago with er indoors on the corner of walking up from the family stand at Highfield rd to the west end.
I said sorry if only I knew to ask him.
He said I was a great bloke!
I'll have what you're on

Surely if he's that good the top 4 teams want to sign him he's good enough to be in our side. Or do they think we're just doing him a favour?

Well my mate spoke to Gary McAllister who has apparently been to watch us twice in the last few weeks.

Why? As he was not playing first team football every week I didn’t know it was him it was my Mrs who is a Mank fan who told me who it was. Ffs they are real people who go to games famous or not.
Maybe get out of your bedsit and live a little there is a world out there.

It's the bit where he said you were a great bloke. Now, I'm off back to my bedsit to watch Jeremy Kyle re-runs and play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends

So Robins struggled to sign decent strikers?
Leon Clarke, and McNulty alone would prove that wrong. He also signed Chaplin and Clark Harris who are now being used as a Stick to beat him with. Chaplin I am pretty sure he would have preferred to keep. Clark-Harris never lived up to his potential here, a majority of fans were not sorry to see him go.
Interesting that McNulty who was on fire here with Robins as his manager has done very little in the 18 months since he has gone. Does that prove that Robins is a great coach with strikers?
I think it is more likely that some signings come off and some don't.

It also has to be said that neither Chaplin or JCH were disastrous signings. The latter helped us gain promotion (as can be said of Biamou and Nazon, two more Robin's signings) the former(Chaplin) made us a tidy profit which at least partly financed the purchase of Godden. While the jury is out on Godden, Hiwula was top scorer last season and may yet make a significant contribution this time around. That only leaves Bakayoko who up to this point has been disappointing. Not a bad success rate in an area perceived as a weakness of his.

I've got no problem at all with his picking of strikers (Baka aside! And there's certainly an argument to suggest we panicked when it looked like the Chaplin deal would fall through, and moved on to plan E) since he got here - McGoldrick and Clarke first time around were pretty decent choices, too.

It's fair to say the system doesn't bring the best out of many of them, however. Of course it's the same system that produces clean sheets and good football, so maybe that's just the inevitable payoff, and we have to learn to deal with it?

If I were an aspiring footballer however, I'd jump at the chance to join us if I were a defender or midfielder, but I'd politely make my excuses if I was a centre forward.

He didn’t pick Mcgoldrick

You're right he didn't, my mistake.

McGoldrick is however a counter-argument to the one that says he can't get strikers functioning, mind you.

Not really. Hiwula has been hit or miss and is frozen out and unlikely to be retained. Biamou is not good enough at this level but was given a 3 year deal. Bakayoko was a stupid signing. Clarke Harris was given aware and now worth over a million. Chaplin was played in every position but forward.

Its shambolic

None of that stops McGoldrick being a counter-argument!

Case for the defence: McGoldrick, McNulty, Biamou (improved as he's been here, strongly suspect the 3 year deal was a promotion reward written in to his initial signing - he wasn't alone!)

Case for the prosecution: JCH, Chaplin, Hiwula (has scored the occasional goal, but been anonymous in games beyond that - contributes nothing to team).

Jury out: Godden

Huh?: Bakayoko

tbh we're agreeing that the system has tended to spoil the strikers he signs for cold hard cash really... aren't we? Clarke also took a while to get going here, but not sure we could blame Robins for that mind you. It does beg the question whether we'd have got any cash for Clarke, or if he'd have gone the same way as JCH if Robins had stayed here, mind.

Plenty - it’s called a dose of reality. Do me a favour and tell me which of the clubs in the top half of the league would swap him for their main striker and why?
