Guys , it is not like he is not scoring.............. he is not DMG but DMG aint DMG at Ipswich either in Cov terms.

Also people claiming to know football should get there boots down to Ryton and prove themselves else keep quiet. please do not use LC as any backlash for a wembley trip lost..........

Cov are for once in our recent history on the pitch stable and 'in with a shout of somthing' all this negativity is daft. Get behind the team and LC ........ totally daft what has been said on here . ( remember SUFC away ..... errrr doh FFS)

record is decent, are you saying he has been good in a sky blue shirt?seriously. i would have scored all his goals and i'm a 50quid a game striker

In that case why not go and offer your services? You sound.a lot cheaper than Leon and just as good.

In other words you are incapable of putting a constructive argument so resort to a rather juvenile response. Impressive stuff. I'm so glad you hadn't educated me with your far more impressive knowledge and intellect. You'd leave me floundering.

Okay, where do I start. When he plays up top on his own he limits the way we can play and makes us very one dimensional because he wins nothing in the air to provide An outlet for the long ball and is too slow to respond to through balls or run the channels. This means the only option we have is to use the wingers and full backs to put balls into the box which normally get dealt with by the customary 7ft league 1 centre halfs.

I acknowledge the fact that he has scored a few goals but I think the majority of strikers in league 1 would've scored more.

For those that are fans of LC what do you see as his main attributes? Good at holding up playing? Good on the ball and good at linking up play? Good in the area? Got pace? Got a decent strike from outside of the box? A good team player?

Scoring goals, which is the most important thing in a striker.

For some reason we tend to have a lot of people who idolise strikers who don't score goals, always seemed a bit strange to me.

It is funny that certain strikers get labelled as lazy, whereas those with less ability avoid this label.

Tell that to Paul Lambert, obviously has his reasons for consistently leaving out Bent

Well if they avoid the lazy label one would assume they are not lazy

John and Best were both far better players than Clarke from what I have seen which is your top argument/comparison at the moment

Of course they were far better players, yet they still got booed and labelled as lazy by the boo-boys and were never appreciated by the fans.

I know, I am just pointing that it is different as you seem to think people don't rate Clarke because of his workrate alone and for no other reason. At least that is what it is coming across like

It is the double standards that a lot of supporters have which annoys me.

Why is Clarke coming in for such criticism, yet the Mcdonald, or should i say, 'Cody' escapes such criticism. He allegedly is unable to maintain a satisfactory level of fitness and has proved to be a poor signing, yet we have those who are calling for his return to the club and still bang on about how he has never been given a run in the side.

Looks fit enough playing for gillingham. Doesn't fit mr's system - but then nor does Clarke. We need to find some more options as our system of playing on the break with one up has been found out and teams have wised up to it

Surely if he was reallly a good manager as the few say he is, then surely he would play a system to get the best out of his players, rather than try and shoe horn players into a system they clearly aren't suited to.

Also if as some say Clarke doesn't fit into the system, why did Robins bring him in in the first place?

Surely it makes sense that if you decide to play a particular formation, you bring in players that suit that formation!

Interestingly Thorn's last 9 games he achieved a +ve goal difference. Since McGoldrush left, City have a -ve goal difference!

Now DM is gone, it can be seen that Robins clearly hasn't improved the team, as can be seen with the current goalscoring figures!

It is also notable that his staunchest allies have suddenly changed their tune. Once it was RFobins told it as it is, and Robins always gave honest assessments.

Now all of a sudden they are praising him for putting a positive spin after a number of extremeley poor displays.

Its amazing how two-faced these people can be!

I'm sure when he is eventually sacked (assuming no other team wants him before hand), I suspect these people who have been defending him so deludedly will be slagging him off!

Some of the greatest strikers in history never scored from over a yard out, look at sumo quinn, who is probably the best goal poacher iv'e seen in my years of supporting. A goal is a goal whether its 3 yards or 30 yards.

One of the best.... Jimmy Greaves NEVER LEFT the 6 yard box
