No but he isn't confirmed just et though seems 99% sure. Also seems sp wants another striker and a good one at that. Mcquiod is a stop gap til January where as higdon is still available and a ready made Wilson replacement. Go get him.

Not sure about Higdon and at 30 not sure paying money for him is a smart move, the French beast I think would be a good signing.

He made 34 appearances in their promotion season from league two and didn't hit double figures, at our current level he didn't feature, like I said I hope he proves me wrong but my gut feeling is he won't

No you're wrong, it was in their promotion from league 1 that he made 34 appearances.

EDIT: Nevermind someone beat me to it

I read some bournemouth fans rating him, think he will do well for/with us and was played out of position a lot, also read some slating him.
Could be a good signing, time will tell.

Thought I read the French lad Isn't up for It .

Sounds similar to McQuoid. Seems to want to see if he can get in the Brentford side. Seeing as he got loaned out to Portsmouth last season I think it's highly possible he won't feature and may reassess his options once the season starts.

Apparently he is in advanced talks with Sheffield Utd they want to sign a 'proven' goalscorer

Higdon looks exactly like the player we are looking for , I don't think we will get him though as he will want a few for wages I expect ..

The Bournemouth ST holder sitting opposite me says he'd be a great signing. Rates him highly.

And irrespective of that, beggars can't be choosers.

That's the difference. Sheffield united go and get a proven goal scorer and we get a cheap loan for 6 months. We should be able to compete with them from the Wilson money.

We sti need a goal scorer. A marquee signing. Tudgay yes great but still no finisher with pace.

Seems to be confirmed today. He will start training today. Yes I did see about Michael higdon joining sheff utd. Missed a trick there. Proven goal scorer. Over 6ft. Good age with experience at a higher level. Massive shame.

We still need SP to have an ace up his sleeve for this week. He did quote 2 or 3 players in. Well we have had one. (A loan)

Isn't zoko still available from stevenage. Scores lots of goals and is on trial at blackpool. We could get him. Him and tudgay up front.

Stop talking about Higdon as if we were actually in for him, majority on here didn't even know who he was until the rumours surfaced.

I assume you have seen Higdon play live a fair bit? Where?

Off the top of my head I can immediately think of 2 clubs that achieved promotion to the premiership by signing loan players.

What percentage of loan players make up an average league 1 team do you think?

What genuinely annoys me in here is that people like you whine about if but so not attend sixfields. Surely this is what you want and expect - a poorer squad if loans and free transfers due to the effect of the boycott.

So this is another example of you changing your mind. NOPM is working now then, when you said it was a waste of time. Samo agrees with you as well.

No what I don't understand is supporters who support nopm wanting and anticipating expensive signings. I would guess they would want and expect free signings and loans or a boycott is pointless.

Where it's not in my view working is a Ricoh return. The club seems no further forward in achieving that. So what will happen is continually working with the restriction on budget. When people don't go and contribute to the clubs revenue I fail to see the complaint.

I'll give a pat on the back to anyone who has any expectations with CCFC, surely they've learned by now not too?

NOPM was about trying to get SISU to sell up as much as it was about getting back to the Ricoh. A lot of people feel the later will be more achievable with new owners.

I agree we, shouldn't expect more than loans and cast offs in the predicament SISU have created.

I did personally. I guess we just enquired about him at most. But why couldn't we get him? That's the bigger question? Are you saying he is rubbish? Have you seen him?

Grendel I think fans still expect because sisu chose to move to Northampton on their own accord and also clearly stated they would provide free transport to the games and cover all the losses. That's why IMO.

Have you seen him? I've never heard of him until last week.

Sheffield United could pay more in transfer fee/wages. His record in Scotland is very good as it is in Holland, but tbh it was just a rumour, I doubt if we were actually in for him

I've seen him, not religiously but I've heard and seen him before and now he looks like joining sheff utd I hope he flops badly. I also like his age and height which would of fitted the bill with us quite nicely.

It's one thing I still think we lack. A pacey 20+ goal Wilson type of player. I've done a lot of research on this coubily bloke from Bournemouth and he is such a good player. He just never plays. Big shame

One thing Higdon doesn't have is pace

There is plenty of YouTube footage...which tells you a bit more than just wiki stats. Transfers alway carry an element of risk, but I would say he would be worth investing in and paying a small fee. Especially if SISU are serious about trying to get out of this league?

No with him I meant the goals he scores. Anyway I hope he fails badly now. Wilson was the perfect player. Pacey and goals.

More important is getting back to the Ricoh before the season starts as like Alex ferguson at man utd. Things like this can be worth many points on it's own.

Maybe then we could attract some better players with a touch more budget from ticket sales.

According to CT at 07.37am McQoid has joined until January, on loan. Surely if Coulibaly is injured, can't we send him back and find another midfielder? oh wait, we have one doing fa while the owners

attempt to force him out.

The better prospect is a fit Coulibaly being given a go, than having to wind up Baker for another season

McQuoid will never play higher than Lg1 and is at best Lg2 standard.

He had a 5 or 6 game purple patch many moons ago and Millwall came in and signed him after he scored two hatricks in two consecutive games. That was the season he scored 9 goals in 17 games (6 of those coming in two games) so take that out of the equation he scored 3 goals in 15 appearances.

Millwall couldn't wait to get rid of him even though he did score their 'goal of the season' in his first year there where he only managed 1 goal, and again a similar return whilst on loan at Burnley.

Although one of your posters have mentioned that he is 'also a winger' that's not quite true either, its where you get shoved when you're a shit striker and not really a midfielder.

I really hope he does well for you, but don't have high expectations as far as goals go, he's not a natural goal scorer and has looked rubbish in preseason down here and the manager said he is not in his plans, hence the move.

Your real hope of an exciting prospect who could look really special in Lg1 is Coulibaly, but his injury record is horrific. He's never had a serious footballing injury, because he's never on the pitch, but gets niggles here there and everywhere and can never shake them off.

I'm sorry to sound like a party pooper guys, just saying how it has been in the past.

Hope I'm wrong and they do well for you, just don't get your hopes up.

Not excited by McQuoid. Several better options were and still are out there.

At the moment with Burge ahead of Allsop in the pecking order, Coulibaly out injured and McQuoid looking like 4th choice striker behind the likes of Maddison, I can't help but think we got done on the Wilson move and should've asked for another £500k-£1m instead of these three.
