We are investing in external third party reviews of such areas and I will also be personally shifting my attention to those areas
Wonder what areas are under target. There's probably a few people who have been around the club along time that are maybe a bit to relaxed and complacent in their roles. Think some of them might be getting told they need to up their game or move on.

I think the club shop and the manufacturing of shirts and other merchandise comes across as an area where we’re missing an opportunity. Seems like there are issues every year - even accepting that things are delayed by what I assume is Doug driving a hard bargain on sponsorship.

Decision makers who try new things will make mistakes. Probably 80:20

I think he matches up well

have said thanks to John Taylor
Exactly and over time you hope the 80:20 will rise to 95:5

Lovely statement released this morning and then we have the issue with the Stoke tickets! Someone is struggling with managing the system...!! 😵💫😂

300 from 4K, that is quite a number of JSB's who populate other parts of the ground!
i dont think thats what he is talking about is he? i've got a JSB in main stand, and that was never in question. Isn't it JSBs that dont have any season tickets at all.

effectively 300 are paying £50 or so for a JSB training session, a bag of goodies and some vouchers.

I ran my own business for over 25 years and never made a decision that negatively impacted my customers, nor did I have to backtrack and look a bit silly. Keep maximising income and make customers happy is a fine balancing act.
I'm the same as you in that respect and wouldn't want to do anything negative to affect my customers. I do remember doing a training course about 30/35 years ago and they actually reckoned that rectifying a mistake like this and owning up to it would make you look better than not making the mistake in the first place.
Personally, I'm not to sure

Wasnt it over 3000? It's easy money for the club.
I was just going off Dougs comment in this update that said 350 or so were impacted by not being allowed to be a JSB without a season ticket. assume the other 3600 or so are season ticket holders as well

Well done Doug King 👑. Nice to have an owner who Listens to the Fans.

I’m pretty sure the JSB decision would have been taken by the Commercial team, as it fell within their delegation of authority…

Doug took the blame, in the eyes of the fans, and was forced to step in to reverse the decision.

I think the statement is an elegant way of saying that Doug will now be taking more of an active role in overseeing all commercial decisions, while a new, more capable team is put in place. Expect to see Tynan on his way imminently, and not before time…

At least he listens to feedback and acts on it. Yes he’ll probably reflect back on his error, but at least it’s been reversed.
He has had to backtrack at least three times now on similar decisions that have proven unpopular (IMO obviously so that they should never have been put in in the first place) and need to be reversed. So fact that it is still happens does make you wonder if he is actually learning from it. I can understand he will have his businessman head on most of the time but it does give an impression that he doesn't get the outcry each time and is just reacting to the bad PR it's getting. Is he just willing to try it on each time to see if he can get away with it?

An owner that cares about the club and fans, we’re very very lucky to have him, whilst he may not be loaded he’ll always be Mr Moneyballs negotiator dougie to me

Like Robins, Kings comments always have an air of reassurance about them. He never over promises, but always gives a sense that he himself is still learning so we're constantly progressing.

On a side note, if we nearly have 4k JSB season ticket holders, that means nearly 20% of season tickets are to under 14 year olds. That bodes brilliantly for the future.

great, that's not how successful businesses operate anymore, I'm also not sure what you're business did but I'm sure it's incomparable to running a football club

Are you a multi millionaire ? If so fair play to you .

If not then maybe King knows more about creating successful scale businesses than you do …..

It does kind of fall on his failure really, after all we are doing the funding without the essential corporate attendance.
Which leaves the shortfall that has probably led to the pricing being employed for the Spurs fixture?

£37 for fixture against a top 6 Prem side is not unreasonable at all…

Most of the people in attendance will be STHs in any case.
