Is he good enough to still be playing week in week out and compete in this team/league?
He was outstanding for us last season but just seems to being shown up in this league. He's playing against a better class of player and getting shown up more and more as weeks go on. He's not even doing the "dark arts" stuff he was last season. He's getting out dark arted (if that's a thing)!
His passing of late has been woeful. He's
shouting at players for his fuck ups, getting caught out of position and on numerous occasions, today alone, gave the ball away in dangerous areas resulting in chances for the opposition.
He wants EVERYTHING to go through him which is either slowing the ge down or bringing him out of position, he'll come deep to the centre halves for a short pass to play the pass that was initially on for the person he came short for. What's the point, both Davies and Willis have a better 40yard diagonal ping than he does so let them do it.
His "demanding" the ball constantly is putting defenders under pressure (playing a 1-2 with Hyam in the 6 yard box under pressure when Hyam should of just got rid).

I understand his commitment and desire is there, but really, is it enough?
If it's passion you want, I'm sure that any one of the 10k fans that turn up every week would give you just as much if not more AND give you a better passing range.

Is it time he called it a day? I think he'd be better in a coaching role now. Use his expertise and knowledge on the training ground and in the changing rooms. Time for something new on the pitch.

Yes I appreciate he's trying, I don't underestimate his commitment or his passion.
It's not just this week though, he was easily the worst on the pitch for me last week v Accrington, he just popped up with a goal at the end to erase peoples memories of a shit performance.

It's all well and good writing off Ogogo, but he hasn't been called upon to play the main role in CM. Him and Kelly continue to play second fiddle to Doyle so we don't know.

However, he could just be crap... everytime I see him he looks like he's wading through treacle!

I said it last week, I think age is catching up with Doyler now. I didn't go today but against Doncaster and Accrington he faded badly in the second half and so did the team. There's no worse than being on a pitch when you know what you need to do but your body can't get there to do it anymore. You just end up shouting at everyone else and it doesn't create a good team dynamic. Obviously I don't know for sure if that is what is going on with Doyler but I wouldn't want that to be the case as he's been brilliant since returning to the club. We were a goal down at half at Mansfield last season and down to 10th in the league. A half time Michael Doyle drove us on to a point in a game that was the turning point of last season.

Doyle is the engine to the team, is essential to the way we play. When he comes short for goal kicks he offers space for someone further up the pitch. It works better with Baylis alongside as he seems to know where to pick up the ball. It allows the attacking plays more space to offer for a second ball.

Granted today he did get caught out of position and got turned a few times, but he was still the first man there. He looks a little flat footed sometimes but to say his legs are gone is ridiculous.

We’d be half the team we are without him.

To be fair he hasn’t played alongside Liam Kelly yet this season a partnership which at the backend of last season really blossomed but then if he did where does Bayliss fit in ? He does get caught up in the last 15/20 minutes of games usually when opponents bring fresh legs on but he covers that well, he uses his experience brilliantly.

The only thing I dislike is we always want to play the ball through him when there are other, usually better options

With him there you know there is someone who is going to wind up opposition players; someone to bollock his team mates if they cock up. No one else steps up and does the ugly stuff.

Do you unsterstand possession based football? Triangle football is the easiest way to make space for anyone, that’s what we do, then look for a ball over the top or turn the full backs. Not complicated stuff, but without Doyle it wouldn’t work so far this season.

I wouldn’t regard him as our weak link, defensively we’ve not won a lot in the air the last few games which has hampered us. Ogogo hasn’t really helped the team out either, we miss sterling most definitely too.

Doyle is not young now, but his experience is vital. He needs to be manager carefully at his age.

Kelly isn't even like Doyle, Robins has said Kelly likes to get forward too much for him to be a Doyle replacement.

Why is this topic brought up every week when we don't have anyone to replace him? Fans can easily point out an issue but continuously fail to come up with a viable solution. So, where's the sense in exclaiming to put him on the bench week after week when it's looking likely that perhaps Ogogo is just an average player who happened to have an excellent season last year and neither Shipley nor Kelly can fill his role. Given that we're 8th in the table I think he's doing absolutely fine. Not the best player admittedly and he does struggle at times but unless fans believe they can magic another captain out of thin air he's what we've got for this season.

Fans seriously need to manage their expectations.
