If people want to protest against the Council, why don't they stand at the upcoming elections, on a ' give/sell the Ricoh to SISU ticket', and then we could see what % of the voters backed their stance. Even if is impracticable to raise a slate of candidates, then maybe the self proclaimed SISU champion, scourge of the council Pete Chambers could stand in the Wainbody ward. An area not likely to vote Labour should be ripe for the taking. Plus I don't believe he has worked for years, so it would give him something useful to do, and SISU would have a voice in the Council chambers. He can't surely fear a lost deposit can he?

That is not true. People refusing why/when signs on friday night on the basis that "its all the councils fault" suggests otherwise.
PS. Just for some to digest - The 1 thing all parties agree on is CCC stance on the Ricoh Arena.

I'm not sure what people are expecting the council to do. Sure you can make an argument that in the past the rent was too high, although there is the counter argument that they were offered alternative sliding scale deals. You can also make an argument about matchday revenues, again there is a counter argument that the club sold their right to 100% of those revenues and have never activated the clause to buy back.
Even if you do put blame for both of those on the council, and in reality it's more to do with ACL than CCC that's not where we're at now is it? ACL have offered a hugely reduced rent, a 3 year deal while a new ground is built, a 10 year rolling lease, access to matchday revenues. CCC have said they will listen to any realistic offer other than those for unfettered freehold which they can't realistically offer.
If a big protest is organised against the council what would the protest aims be, what would you be hoping to achieve?

I asked exactly the same points yesterday, as did others, and got called 'Council Stormtroopers' (or some other such term), and then latterly compared to a lady's reproductive organ. These are genuine questions, and it's frankly laughable that the GMK lot advocating protest, and can't answer why when asked?!? It seems wholly misguided, random and protest-for-protest's sake. Maybe they've been playing this, and have confused the virtual world with reality:

Are you clinically insane? Look at any given thread in here, and then look at GMK. The number of posters, the number of contributors, the number of 'lurkers'. This place is ten fold what that shambles is. If there's a debate to be had, have it here. The fact that two GMK contributors have come on here; unable to add anything to the central thrust of the debate; throw about insults like 'twat' and 'c**t' and then run back to the sanctuary speaks volumes. And if underlining was needed, the fact that add-nothing-say-everything Grendel lingers with intent simply casts the deciding vote

Just not true - no idea where GMK get this from - most on here are pretty balanced and aware that ACL have a case to answer but Sisu as owners of CCFC are the only ones who have taken the decision to take the football club hostage - you should come on here more often you may enjoy it

And here you prove my point. Many thanks. Edge's suggestion was met on here by some genuine questions as to how CCC move from a contractually hamstrung position. Read back, they're all there. No answers are forthcoming froom those who advocated the protest. Instead, he jumps back to GMK, joyfully and childishly proclaims the council stormtroopers are in town (or some other such term), and everyone on GMK huddles around and agrees that this site is populated by the myopic and delusional. Meanwhile, no such debate ensues on GMK either. For you to call this forum non-balanced, and to advocate the like-minded clique on GMK is absurd. Yes, it was a great place once; but you're marching up the hill to the higher moral ground of the high-brow with nothing current to back your position.
Indeed, GMKers come on here, on a thread that advocates discussing a position started on GMK, don't contribute to the body of the debate, start chucking insults about; and as you yourself admit above, when I made the obviously wrong decision to go there a week or so back, I was simply met with the verbal abuse you confirm. You don't debate, you insult. All four of you. I'm not 14, and have no need to exchange 'views' with such an audience.
Like it or not; the real debate is on here. It's representative, multi-faceted and robust. And simply too taxing for people who can't add to the richness of the discussion, and revert to childish insults instead

I disagree. I think opinion on here is proportional to the number of fans who refuse to participate in the Sixfields farce, and that which comes through on every poll. The vast majority of fans are against the actions of the owners. That's reflected in opinion on here. If you don't agree, argue your point; but don't pretend you are up against conspiracy, it's opinion.
I had a view on the Thorn era that was not shared by most. I accepted I was in the minority. Doesn't mean that the debate I was arguing against wasn't true or 'representative', as clearly it was. Same on the CCC/ACL/SISU issue
