I Met up with my friend yesterday who works in and around the training ground and he mentioned to me that apparently we are trying to sign a player from a top premiership team that was on loan at a league one club last season

He also mentioned that apparently after the Millwall game Adi Viveash went absolutely ballistic at Hamer for getting sent off and the pair of them had a heated argument, he said Hamer missed a few days of training to diffuse the situation

Well whether AV did or didn't I hope someone had a serious word with him and told him to grow up, good player aside.

Was told a couple of weeks back from someone in the game (not the club) we have some interest in a midfielder who fits this profile... Although I would say a big club rather than a top club! I had never heard of him and I haven't seen too many other Championship clubs linked, although he does appear highly thought of at his club.

Not against us bringing this lad in well rated at Arsenal but again it’s a 19 year old rookie imo we need an injection of experience we all know how tough this division can be and there’s plenty of whiskey old tough nuts scattered throughout this league.

Fuck that. Experienced players we’ve signed: Moore, Kane, Bidwell, Waghorn, Palmer. Hardly a resounding success.

We clearly need to sign our own players who will rise in value or we’re fucked.

Unless whoever it is doesn't need any wage contribution or someone's about to pay most of Todd Kane's wages I don't see how we even get a youth loan in.

McFadzean, Kelly, Doyle, Godden on the other hand.... it's horses for courses and agree that players who are lower on the development curve are best generally

If we look at our team, we aren’t necessarily that young high potential team that we were. I’ve calculated the average age of the first team squad and it comes out at 26.13
This goes to show most of the squad is entering their prime meaning next season (not this to disrupted) could be the season where we make that next step, we’ve seen how the current crop cope in the championship and they look the part, they hold their own (most of them) I think this season could just be a bit of a transition where the team start learning to play in more different ways therefore helping them reach their best for next season where if we manage to keep at least 2 of the big 4, then we will make it to the promised lands

We cannot say Palmer is neither a success or failed signing yet, because we have played 2 games this season, and I think he looks like over time he will grow into the team very well
