I listen to him every day. Yes he might like the sound of his own voice but I wouldn't put him down as a liar.Because his job is literally to mouth off as per the Talksport terms and conditions
Sheffield Utd? I know they got investment, but they'd also come from League One.So nothing more recent than 12 years ago? Seems like a risky investment if so!

Because in the scheme of things ccfc is only a smallish part of income. He isn't going to rely on itBut this is the bit I'm worried about.
What benefit is it to Ashley if we are there?
As we saw yesterday the costs of running the arena are huge.
Yes you can cut some costs but there are unavoidable costs such as utilities which are constantly rising.
I just can't see how a football club turning over 1 million a year for the arena can yeald a profit for Ashley.
Sheffield United and also look at teams like Luton who’ve got into the play offs
You also have to look at teams who get parachute payments then struggle Hull, Huddersfield, Reading, Stoke, Bolton, Middlesbrough, WBASo how many in the last ten years who’ve been promoted then? One? Two?
Luton are sadly (for them, but also from a competitive POV) as likely to be relegated in the next five years as they are to get promoted. As a general rule, parachute payments tend to count for the majority of promotion spots.
The idea that the playing field in the Championship has never been more level doesn’t really make sense - sorry.
Also Swansea, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Derby

You mention a new co OSB....I think we need to wait for the administrators to file their first report to understand what is actually going on.
Has House of Fraser just bought the lease (is that the lease plus extension? )
What happened to the fixtures fittings etc?
What about the inventory?
what did the £15.8m actually buy?
Or did they buy the three companies?, if so then there is some scheme of arrangement being put in place to discount the liabilities but the assets will change in value too
If bought the companies the sub leases to CCFC, the casino etc will not have changed, or will new leases need to be negotiated
or is it a new co that will go forward
all a bit confused at the moment and we wont have an idea what is actually going on until we see that first report
The face is we left Coventry twice. Our downward spiral started when we moved to Northampton. League 2 by 2017. How you say we can’t blame the owners for that is deluded.
He’s definitely interested in CCFC. I‘d bet something develops by Christmas time.he has had advisors at cov games. Look how much the arena is currently losing. Bad management? Yes but a businessman like himself will see our club is on the up. The football, the atmosphere. This club has the potential to be worth 100 mill this time next season.
Just because he hasn’t said anything on record certainly doesn’t mean he’s not interested in us
He could not flatten the arena tomorrow.
You mention a new co OSB....
What is a "propco"? When I heard about MASH holdings, a "propco" (succeeded by a number which I don't recall) was also mentioned....
Would that have any relevance/interest in this deal shmmeee?Propco is just a company set up to hold property assets
Usually it's a company that only purpose is to hold the freehold or leasehold property of a group. You mention a new co OSB....

So what would the relevance of a propco be in this particular deal?Usually it's a company that only purpose is to hold the freehold or leasehold property of a group.
They are often used by property developers for a specific project eg to build a housing estate.
ACL (2006) is / was a propco as its purpose was to hold the head leaseSo what would the relevance of a propco be in this particular deal?

The same logic doesn't seem to be applied to Mike Ashley by those wanting him to buy the club. If he wanted it he had the chance.I hate the term ‘The jury’s out’. I agree, my skepticism is drawn from 15 years of off-pitch angst. His takeover has So many red flags. His late bid for the stadium, SISU in disguise? There is no point being a white knight if you trot in after the event.
Now that Doug and his puppet master are here it will be interesting to know how much they’ll sell for? Also, come the transfer window we will get a feel for whether Doug has the money to invest.Ashley was wrong for the Toon but would be right for us. He’s very rich (worth 2-3 billion) but in a Premier League dominated by even richer people his pockets aren’t deep enough for a very big club. He is rich enough however to gradually turn Cov into a really well run club with a clever strategy to develop talent and not be forced to sell it.
Does King have the money to do the above? No, he’d be another accountant in the end.
Ashley probably just wants a bit of fun without throwing money down the drain. We fit the bill perfectly. We might just be the perfect match for him
You did. You said they couldn’t influence what happened. Of course they did. They contributed significantly to our downfall from 2012-2017. As I said, luckily we got away with it against Notts county. Otherwise don’t think we’d even be a club nowI didn't say anybody couldn't blame them for things that have happened?
This is the sort of positive stuff people from the City of Coventry should be saying. Instead we are incredibly negative about our City… despite having so much going for us.A lot looking very too deep into this. It's likely just an addition to the Fraser's huge portfolio.
I've mentioned a few times on here that the stadium complex is very unique. Location is as central you can get in the UK. It has a train station/line which should/could be developed into having regular services to Coventry that take minutes.
It's a 32,000 sports stadium with capacity for 40,000 at gigs. Although there's one or two at Villa, the CBS is THE stadium for international summer stadium tours in the Midlands. It's hosting the two biggest summer gigs next summer. It could, in theory host a lot more.
There's an exhibition hall which is fairly busy but with huge potential for other events. Casino and office space etc. No other stadium in the country has all this within one package.
Run properly, that stadium should have hosted the women's Euros, Rugby World Cup in 2015 and even as part of the 2028 Euro bid. Unfortunately, it's never been run well. We did well and got lucky with the Olympics which were an iconic moment for Coventry and similarly with the Commonwealth. Both brought people to the city.
It will eventually become the Sports Direct or Fraser's Arena. It cost Ricoh £10m for a sponsorship deal in 2005. Fraser's can name it after one of many high street names and have it mentioned across the country every week on TV, on posters for European gig posters etc.
It's a nice addition to their portfolio.
Generally, I'm not surprised Ashley is all over Coventry and the local area. The city has progressed in the last decade but I still believe it's failed to capitalise on its universities. You have two top 20 (ish) universities in the city. Most graduates move to London or Manchester. More businesses should be looking at the potential to attract these clever kids into staying in Coventry.
If he interferes with recruitment we’ll know. Equally if he puts a few quid in towards the squad we’ll probably know that too. Either way won’t take long to work out what’s going on.Robins is normally a pretty down the line guy, I reckon we’ll pick up a lot about DK and his intentions through him TBH.

The notion here is the club gets some finances to support a promotion bid which would yield greater riches if that’s achieved and again many teams in and around the top 6 are looking very equal in terms of finances
Not really the Mike Ashley model though is it? He’s already been here before with Newcastle - just replace “promotion” with “Champions League”.
Promotion from the championship strategy would be somewhat lessNot really the Mike Ashley model though is it? He’s already been here before with Newcastle - just replace “promotion” with “Champions League”.
You do surely understand that the amount of money required is vastly different?
