Think this deserves it’s own thread

How would people feel about Ashley? I must admit I’d struggle to get really excited about it

I don’t like the way he does business, the way he treats staff in said business and I really wouldn’t want to see the ground and club be used as a cash cow for the tacky and frankly awful Sports Direct brand

Understand people want the back of SISU and I completely get why and whilst I’d accept it, I couldn’t praise or hail him as some sort of saviour if it turned out to be him,

Indeed, you only have to look at how he alienated fans favourites at Newcastle to make sure he got his own men in to be worried that Robins leaving is a realistic proposition if he takes charge

I doubt Ashley is REALLY looking at us in all truth. He found the derby situation to difficult and pissed off without a real fight and he’ll do the same here in all truth.

If it’s not straight forward I get the impression he doesn’t have much patience and moves onto his next prey.

I’m not overly keen. However he wouldn’t buy us to stick a load of Sports Direct signs up and then linger around lower end Championship, or League One. The aim for him would be the promised land of the Premier League. I would find that hard to dislike, as much as I’d dislike the bloke (and the signs).

His track record doesn’t fill me with optimism, the fans of his last club hated him, and as someone who apparently seems to be in the market for any football club, I’m not sure about his motivations. So I’m on the pessimistic side.

Surely not! As someone said he could come in want to turn a dire situation around get us into the Premiership and sell us to a rich investor and pocket the difference. Personally for me that is a better route than a half full stadium and league 2 football.

He will set Coventry up the same way if he takes over - even with other clubs. Coventry looks more promising though. An opportunity to get CCFC and CBS back together (potentially already making the club more profitable/appealing in the long run) making them contenders for promotion or even getting promotion and he will be looking to sell the club in a few years. Arguably, he can do this with any club but I would say Coventry has caught his eye with a modern stadium.
