Just simply show some energy, desire, want to win 2nd balls......given what we saw, that would be a big step forward.

Expect to see a reaction Saturday, if we don't, thats a serious concern re this "deck". So glad FL saw everything in all its glory on Saturday, he knows where we are now.

Love to see a detailed city unseen this week of some proper coaching.

changes -
wonder if Jamie Allen is an option - we need some energy.
Goalkeeper - well its just a mess now, whoever he picks Saturday has to be his first choice for foreseeable.
Kitching - Binks - jeez, probably stick with binks
Id go Simms up top for NB.

Allen is a really interesting shout. Gives energy and willingness to receive the ball others don’t. Where do you fit him in though? Not at CM for me, maybe one of the wide forward slots?

after a solid week under FL there should be some changes to start showing. draw against cardiff, take the positive, we didnt lose.
FL and new coaches will shake things up, warmup on matchday was noticeably different, changes will come.

Dovin needs to start, if he makes howlers, fine, but stick to one GK, we havent had just a solid no1 in goal every game since what, wilson last season? Gk's will make mistakes, nothing cements low confidence more than dropping a keeper.

Dovin
MVE - Bink - Thomas - Bidwell
Sheaf - rudi- Eccles
saka - simms - EMC

1-0 cov.

I would play him in flat 3 with sheaf and Eccles probably.

that was the trio who played at Millwall last year, 3.0 victory.

Certainly goes missing too much in the CM role for me. Allen would give you something there.
Exactly that, we've got too many who go missing. JA not best technically, but he will bring energy at least.

My concern with JR after seeing him previously is end product and output, not changed my mind to date.

It was noticeable under Robins IIRC that without O’Hare we lacked that man offering an option and running past his man to draw a man until Allen came in at AM.

Yeah, exactly. FL will have had a full week to work with the players, so I do think we will see a quite different Sky Blues this Saturday.

I'd take another draw, as long as it's a good performance and looks promising for the coming weeks ahead.

Also I hope he's a leader, would also bring bidders back at left back. Sorry but JDS just not good enough.

could Rodz make an appearance on the bench? saw that hes at least training with the first team. id love to think that we have a player with a great deal of talent (almost feels like a new signing when/if he plays at some point) that can be an option soon.

Don't think we have the balls to go into a bear-pit atmosphere and come away with a win

That being said I feel like Millwall are slightly overachieving and will tail off as the season goes on

Low score draw imo

Millwall have some colossal central defenders. I feel playing Simms would be a disadvantage against them. Speed and playing to feet is the way to beat them so the likes of Bassette / BTA are my preference under the circumstances.

Rudoni didn’t play in the 10 on Saturday?
Looked like it a lot as the wingers pushed back to support the midfield while he was up by Bassette, thats my only real criticism of the 1st half especially. It made it slower for the wingers to hit the lines as they were coming from deeper

A message from my Millwall supporting friend (he's actually a nice guy):

"Honestly mate, I can’t describe how bad these reserves are that will come in. The two centre backs starting next week have played a combined total of 7mins this season. We’re totally fucked as they have no pace whatsoever. Kind of players you beg to not be on the team sheet.
Today’s result was down to Harris negativity. Oxford were absolute shit and there for the taking, but instead of pushing for a second goal he invited them on. I hate it when we play like that as it’s so frustrating to watch as should have gone on and get a second."

"We only ever score 1 so you should be fine 🤣
Missing Tanganga at centre back will kill us. Cooper is a massive lose at both ends of the pitch, but Tanganga is a class above any defender at this level.
If I were Harris I’d try and outscore cov but he’ll play 1 up front guaranteed 😳🔫"

So it sounds like they are going to be there for taking in terms of their defence. My friend is negative at the best of times but he is absolutely convinced we'll do them on Saturday...

Team for me
Dovin
Milan - Thomas - Kitching - Binks
Eccles - Sheaf
Sakamoto - Rudoni - Ephron Mason Clark
Simms

Attack forms a 3-2-5 while defending in a 4-4-2
Kitching must be showing some of the good stuff to FL this week in training then to earn a start?

Okay

Assuming we try the same tactics I would like to go with

Dovin
MVE
Thomas
Kitching
Binks
Sheaf
Torp
Rudoni
Sake
Simms
MVE

Which works out as this with the ball

Dovin
Thomas-Kitching-Binks
Sheaf-Torp
MVE-Saka-Simms-Rudi-EMC

And this without

Dovin
MVE-Thomas-Kitching-Binks
Saka-Sheaf-Torp-EMC
Simms-Rudi

it's the same system we played on saturday with Kitching/Torp/Simms added

Sakamoto Simms EMC

I'd like to see Dovin come back in - one mistake aside I think he's our best option. Would be interesting to see if FL gives Kitching a go over Binks. I don't mind Binks, don't think he's a bad player by any means but maybe needs a breather to recover confidence.

Midfield for me is the biggest issue in our squad right now. I've said before that a defence is only as good as what is in front of it. The goals conceded against Sheffield United and the second Cardiff goal in particular are down to our midfield being a little all over the place. I think this is a system issue more than individual, Eccles and Sheaf always put up good numbers in defensive contributions in seasons gone by and work needs to be done in training to solidify that - there's always a man free or a runner into the box being completely missed.

Think he'll persist with Rudoni over Torp for the time being. Think Rudoni looked a little awkward and ineffective taking up a position on the left side of the pitch so maybe tinker with that a little so he's taking up positions more centrally or on the right?

I hope this week in training is just a complete reset of back to basics - this is the system we'll be using and these are the positions you take up out of possession kind of thing.

I don’t mate, all I can say is I don’t think we can keep the defence as it is.

He’s aggressive in the tackle and could act as a leader for the back three/four. Think it’s important for Frank and us to keep an open head with all the players, never know different manager maybe different attitude

i hope so, i think there is a player in kitching, just didnt seem to make the step up from the barnsley. hes a tall player should be a great option between binks and bob. noticed recently that neither of them get subbed off, they must be knackered too.

It’s at the point I’d consider Wilson just for his attitude. Am I Mark Robins?
Not good vibes about Wilson's recovery progress on Cov Tel story. Apparantly not yet back on grass.:(

I personally don’t think it’s the midfields fault we concede from nearly every shot we face.
