why was it worse for millwall?
O yer because there manager moans loader.
They havent trained only got 14 players one is 15 yet they still managed to have a full complement tonight!

Half their starting 11 have been at home all week.

Spoke sense that training been disjointed etc but near end he was like there was a split in camp and can't say if it will improve or something like that

Also said Viktor one of only players to fully train yet he didn't start him??
Split in camp ? In what way ? A falling out ?

The big positive this season has been the support of the team. I get why people are frustrated and p8ssed off about today's result and the second half performance, and i know this is a forum where people can laud and vent, but not sure the team deserve the vitriol. I accept our form has obviously dipped, but expecting us to have gone from battling relegation to top 6 is a very high benchmark. We need to upgrade but it will probably take another season or two if all goes well (and that is no guarantee). This is not me accepting of anything with regards to league position, but expecting / demanding top 6 is a bit harsh if used as a measure of success/failure.

Its not about being top six for me, it’s about keeping the standards we set and beating teams we’re on top of like we were first half today.

That’s just not true. We’ve picked up decent players for a lot less than £2.5m a piece and are only using two loan slots.

I picked a range £1.5 - £2.5m. I ignored loans, as they only give short term benefit (but if we are including 2 of them, then we would still have to find £2m - £4m to buy quality.

We’ve been punching I feel above this season,we are still in the mix

2 wins in 12, zero cutting edge and Gyo especially looks like a shadow of the player he was.

The high tempo stuff has evaporated and with it we're back to expecting miracles of one of the 3 players in forward positions. I wouldn't be this frustrated with performances if I knew we couldn't do much better.

But if we were on top, that suggests we are doing a lot right. Walker/Godden doesn't seem to work and then we had a few misfiring the longer the game went on.

A lot on this forum are rightly pissed off that we have spent most of the season in the top 6, and when we lose or we have dropped points from winning positions, apart from Luton away they are to teams that have been at the same level as us performance-wise or worse

This is a fantastic chance to keep within the mix and we are blowing it

Hopefully we'll pick up some form soon

I'm sure you'll be holding his hand as he writes it. Honestly some of the crap that gets posted on here is bewildering. Poor run, we ain't played for weeks, poor result. We're still doing ok man. Let's not go OTT.

I think it's unlikely we'll get back in there again this season. Too busy paying down interest on SISU loans to give the manager a helping hand. Though he himself seems to have lost his way in this run

lazy bastards!

They said they couldnt play tonight because they only had 14 fit players 2 of which were Goalkeepers and one who was 14.
So were they telling the truth or did they have players playing who had Covid?
Shit happens we were shit have seen a lot better and a lot worse.

It was probably technically correct to say that at the time if they were returning from isolation today.

They didn't want to play today because many of their players who played tonight have been in isolate all week.

We won't make any significant signings in Jan because we've got no ambition to do anything more than plod along

The squad has gone a bit stale

Seems a lot has gone on with Covid behind close doors.

However, Millwall had players on the pitch who came out of isolation today.
Their players looked more up for it than ours. First to second balls, making challenges, killing the game off.

Looked like it was us that had just came out of isolation and that was the difference for me.

Before the start of the season I would have agreed with you. However, looking at the other teams and how we have played at times, the tanking we are seeing at the moment is so frustrating and completely our own fault.

I keep saying it but our squad simply isn't big enough.
There is so little room to accommodate injuries, covid , loss of form. We need more decent additions.
That doesn't excuse tonight which was just dross

Tactics were wrong from the start. We had two defensive midfielders and they packed midfield band so we had two defensive players and O Hare

We had only two routes to create chances. o Hare trying to force through a brick wall and just get Kane to run and cross. Their keeper hardly worked.

Rowett made an effective change at the right time we didn’t

It’s bizarre Allen is given a new contract and isn’t considered good enough ahead of Kelly

Shocking management and laboured performance

Let's hope that Moore is back pronto, that goal was typical Wilson shite

Totally agree, and that's on the owners.
People can talk about seizing this opportunity in a poor league but they're the ones that need to do it. If they're not prepared to, sell the fucking club.

Yes rusty springs to mind. Kelly is also slow at getting up to speed so i would have started Allen. I would also have started Gykores. So from the get go we had the wrong personel for a doged side like Millwall. Kane was the main outlet tonight, but still think we seem to miss that Dabo dynamism. Hamer was a big miss, so we should have added a 4th midfielder and not two strikers. I just felt Robins got the tactics all wrong tonight, but that's easy with hindsight.
JCH will bring a better strength to the left side with Maatsen going forward. Dabo should come back in and Kane will be unlucky to miss out. Godden looked jaded but is still our best option.
Now the controversial one....young Callum O'Hare needs a rest and used as an impact sub. His decision making was awaful once again tonight. He demands the ball, but when faced with options rarely does the right ting in front of their penalty area. he must learn to take players on from good positions not constantly look around to lay it off. I think Jones would be an excellent choice to try I that number 10 slot. he will take a pop given a sight of goal and we need those goals. Sheaf has so many miss placed passes. he needs to run with the ball a bit more.
It was one of those games where the players will wish they could start again. But it's gone. You always sense when there are two or three games postponed your rhythm will be affected. We must regroup and get back into our usual quick passing and pressing game and it will come back. Firmly beleive we can make the playoffs and now is the time to kick on and acheive it. Interesting month coming up...

You can rest O'Hare if there's anyone close to him who can replace him-there isn't. Extra quality is massively lacking in both the defensive and attacking midfield areas but with owners who care more about helping themselves to interest it's never coming.
