Come on everyone let’s continue our big away followings with this one. Forget all this nonsense about it not being a safe place. It’s incredibly easy to get to, only 1 stop from London Bridge and the platform leads straight into the away end. London Bridge has loads of great pubs for pre match drinking.

Tickets on sale nice and early for once and 2 per ST so the club are obviously listening. Sell the 2K quickly and I believe we can get another 2K. Come on!

Are you suggesting some people are still a little scared to take the trip to cuddly wuddly Millwall?
Always missed out on the pre/post drinking around London bridge on previous trips - would do this one again for that alone.

I've only been there once, a few years back. It was certainly an atmosphere. I would describe a lot of the language I heard used as "ripe". Also, their songs were weird

What songs of theirs are weird? The ‘roar’ they do is a decent chant.

Just had a trawl through their 'repertoire' and the one I hadn't heard (and thought was bad, not very inventive) was 'You're muppets, you're muppets' ?!?

Aside from the one above, I remember them doing some incomprehensible (to me at least) shushing type chant. No idea what was being said. Not heard one like it before or since...

There's a great book by Michael Calvin 'Family'
He spent a year there in Kenny Jacket's time
One of their players said 'if you can't put up with being called a c**t you can't play for Millwall'
And Danny Baker said that he took a well to do girlfriend there for a game in his younger days who turned to him during the game and referring to the rest of the crowd said 'your friends like saying c**t don't they'
It's a place like no other

Remember being dropped off by Harry shaw in the town ctr at 12.30 as they arrived early in the 80s when our keeper was sent off and Speedie went in goal.
the place was a shit hole and the ground was surrounded by barb wire like a pow camp.
never been so scared in my life walking around Millwall in colours waiting for the ground to open

South Bermondsey just looks like normal railway. Is Surrey Quays the next best one on under/overground?

SQ is about a 20 minute walk away. South Bermondsey is on the overground.
You’re best off going to London Bridge then getting the train to SB.

Yeah have just been looking again. I might even end up going from Stanmore to London Bridge. It’s some way but London games are a shithouse

Overground from London Bridge to South Bermondsey, it takes about 3 mins and the station is right outside the away end.
If travelling from Euston just jump on the Northern line direct to London Bridge first.

I was at that game we parked a brand new hired rover 200 from Avis by the Belgrade on a housing estate and it was still intact after the game.
Good old days it was like colditz inside!!

Was also there. Had a police escort to the ground but tbf the millwall lot were more interested in getting at the coppers than us. Also been to New den and despite a few knobheads it was mainly kids on bikes giving it the bug in from a safe distance. Police again didn't help marching us single file round to the station and in days of old we'd have been easy picking for any ambush.
