Portsmouth ?
We have only had ONE top TEN finish in the last 26 (probably 27 in a couple of months). That for me is a worse statistic than no top 6 finish in 47.
Throw in 2 relegations, being forced to play in fucking Northampton, and renting the stadium that was built for us from a London rugby club.
And now you can add in the fact that this season we were mercilessly teased with attacking, free flowing football for 4 months, that put us top of the table and in a position where it was unthinkable that we could finish outside the top 6, before following it up with a run of 20 games where we have picked up 19 points.
I'd say we will be safely ranked as number one in this poll.
....and that, ladies & gentlemen, is why its quite frankly amazing that any of us still bother.....we're a great set of fans for such a shitty club...
No. We're the most fickle fans in the country remember
Oh yeah....I remember...I've changed my mind on this now.....we are the most fickle...
in fact we wouldnt even win that title, we would fall away at the end, so we are probably the 7th most fickle fans (wouldnt want a top 6 finish)That's the spirit.
I think the dashing of hopes from January onwards has been about the hardest to take in all my time, and that's up against pretty stiff competition given that City have plummeted after Xmas pretty much every year for 47 years.
I completely agree. 33 years I have supported the club and this has definitely been the most gut wrenching time I can remember. Watching us play this season up until the end of November was an absolute joy, unrivaled by anything since 1998 imo. You started to sense the buzz on matchday that this season was going to be something really special. To then watch us become an utter shambolic mess in the space of a few short months is really hard to take.
As that well worn phrase goes, "It's the hope that kills you".
Since we were promoted to the top flight our league positions have been pretty shocking when you look at it.

Yes, but 34 consecutive seasons in the top flight in itself was better than all but 3 clubs.
I am not saying it's any good to be a Cov fan, it isn't. The last 15 years have been far worse than the previous 35.
Whatever league we are in, to be competitive is the most important thing. I don't buy into the 34 years in the top flight being deemed as a success, unless you actually do something with that time and build on it it means nothing.
Yeah, qualified for Europe in that period and won a cup. Did nothing.
You think that is success? in 34 years?
How many clubs have won the FA Cup in the last 34 years?
We have only had ONE top TEN finish in the last 26 (probably 27 in a couple of months)
wolves are mid table with 3 promotions and 3 trophies
What i would have given for a mid table finish
