Don't get the notion that the football team can learn from the rugby teams performance today. Fucking weird Rugby patronising mentality. Like when Sir Clive was going to be a football manager.

I'm conflicted.
I'll be rooting for Leicester Tigers to get a narrow win tomorrow. Never done that before.
Worth it though, just to see Wasps dumped on their arses at the bottom of the Premiership.
Well worth it.

Well worth it.

A losing bonus point would do it.

I live in Binley because I married somebody from Coventry I was born in high Wycombe and I’m a third generation wasps fan so them moving to Coventry was more luck (for me anyway) than judgement

Can we drop Wasps and rugger from this thread? The rest of it is entertaining.

Sadly, not to be.
However, with Cov winning this afternoon, they're now three places behind Wasps
And that's the way to do it.
We need Cov to get promoted doesnt matter how wasps do to get religated would be great but failing that Cov going up will put a spanner in their works. unfortunately they could do with better crowds to be able to compete, want happen this year without a lot of luck.

If Cov went up this season it'd be a friggin disaster.
Give it a couple of years though...
And tbf I believe that is their aim building a great team slowly so 2 years is about right.

Trouble is, is if Wasps and their like have their way, then promotion and relegation from the top league will be abolished.

That's the risk they take wont be good PL looked at it too dont know how that's gone but it will just split the sport.

You're probably right. You could end up with a darts type scenario. Two separate governing bodies for the same sport.

It took Bristol several years TBF.
(From 09/10 to 15/16, but admittedly at least three of those attempts failed in the play-offs. Finished well down the table a couple of times).

Yeah that's true, they've since got rid of the playoffs haven't they? The general pattern has been for a team coming down to immediately return though.

Anything else would be huge, huge failure given the uneven playing field afforded the dropped team by their very good friends in the Prem and the RFU.
Can't be having upstart urchins begging at the banquet.

Wasps are doing well today

Peaches and cream where are you son ?
Didn't realise you would miss me so much and not overly fussed by Saturdays result as realistically i expected the thrashing to be worse than it was, 5th/6th placed team against probably 3rd best team in the league
