How did Mcbean do well? He just lumbered up front like an oaf.

That might be true but he was still miles better than Reid.

I do come from a travelling background, is that a problem?

Who was your Sifu in the british team Hadji10... or even in Coventry? My whole family including brothers, Sisters, Nephews(One of which was World Champion) Nieces one of which also fought for GB. :) The lowest belt being held by one of my sisters' and one Niece that of Brown.

A guy called Charles Farrell, I'm not from Coventry. Bob Dereks was the head of GB kickboxing back in the early 90's.

Nice of you trying to catch me out though bud.

I'm talking Sifu Dave Porter, Sifu Asa Darlinson, and Sifu Paul Burkinshaw who are all very close friends. Not trying to catch you out. Genuinely interested. Asa still has his Dojo and teaches regularly in Coventry. My Niece retired from kickboxing to become a headmistress at a school in Coventry. my other Nephews, Nieces, Brothers and Sisters got Too old.

Let's be honest McBean looked nothing special but does seem to know how to play with his back to goal so could work in that position. Nowhere near fit enough though and needs to lose a bit of weight imo.

Just got back to rugby.. at least the motorway was clear .. highlight of the day..morcambe definitely wanted it more .. first to each ball putting a foot in and not shirking a challenge.. thought Ruben was particularly bad today continually giving it away.. the forwards never got much service and our defence were continually left for dead.. morecambe must be kicking themselves they didn't win

Yes just got back from a long long drive. Cold today also if I mentioned that.

Reid was abysmal and rightly hauled off at half time. I like MV there. Does something at least. Lameires was crap and just gave the ball away and hit a one man wall which is some achievement. Thought mcbean changed the game when he come on and gave us some presence and power and he will score goals you can see that. Good player for us. Or could be.

Rose not great today but Stevenson was good yet again.

P.s send Andre wright back now. He was fucking useless. May as well had me on the left wing. At least I would of ran.

Why wouldn't he be fit by now? How many weeks has he been training with us? It makes you wonder if we have a fitness regime at all. And why would he need to lose weight, aren't young players always being told they need to 'bulk up'?

His physique is that of a 30 something with "Middle aged spread" Looks a good player with skills but needs to shed a good few pounds. Very much the same as Andre Grey.

We're playing Wycombe on Wednesday - he'll look anorexic compared to Akinfenwa :D

Strange though - thought Reid was one of the better players against Chesterfield - he appears to blow either hot or cold, without a consistent average.

Reid was crap again Chesterfield as well, until the last 20 mins, when they tired out, and began to chase the game which left him space to run into.

Thought today was very poor, and don't remember a performance as bad as that in a long while. They must have had around 5/6 golden opportunities, which somehow they missed. Think we had one semi-decent chance, from the corner, but that was about it. The goal was brilliantly taken by Sterry as it was the only place he could have scored.
Ruben was useless today, how people can slate Tudgay this season and not him is beyond me. I like him at times, but the number of times he gave the ball away today was awful, didn't beat his man more than twice all game.
Thought Rose played okay, and in a 3 man midfield will get around 10 goals this season, he has a willingness to get in the box, although perhaps today, a bit too much as it left Stevenson exposed.
Reid and Wright were also very very poor, although it has to be said the change in formation today to a 4-1-4-1? in the first half was awful- people knocked TM for changing team, and yes while MV may have had his hand forced, that is twice in a row he has started with abysmal tactics, when the only one so far this season to work is 4-3-3, and given we have so little time on the training ground before matches, no wonder we play so poorly. However hats off for the substituiton again.
Though Mcbean showed glimpses- don't think he is overweight at all, he is bulky there is clearly a difference. Though he was a decent enough target man, and would like to see a bit more of him. Definitely over wright.
And last but not least- Lee Burge- for the second game running saving us, 3-4 very good saves, as some have said one was unorthodox, but he gets the job done. Burge is making the shirt his own.Motm.

Were you at the match or watched on stream?

On the stream when they had close up shots of mcbean he certainly didn't look in top shape.

Said before the match I would take the draw and beat them at the Ricoh.
I am just glad there was no defeat to dent the confidence

Opinions, opinions, & not sniping @ posters on here,
imho,
Burge - good all round performance 7/10
Sterry - slightly rocky 1st half but vastly better 2nd, good goal !! 7/10
D. K-Evans - reasonable control & was up against some physical stuff 6/10
Turnbull - as solid as one could expect, 6/10
Willis - he too coped reasonably with the strong arm tactics 7/10
Rose - good box to box play for the whole game 7/10
Lameiras - a pity that when he gets scythed down (counted 5 times), sfa is done 6/10
Sordell - troubled their back line, just wish he'd have more shots, @ goal that is 7/10
Reid - had a stinker, so good last week, yet just not on it today 4/10
Wright - looked threatening on the left but not @ c/f 6/10
Stevenson - worked well with Rose & got clog from their henchmen 7/10
McBean - a bustler who knows where the goal is, feed him & he will score 7/10
Maycock - another product of our academy who, once in sync with our play will blossom 6/10
In summation, we can play much much better than we did, & providing the officials wise up to the neanderthal tactics employed by their w's Winnard, Willdig & Whitmore & a few of the others, we should be able to progress.
p.s. If my memory serves me correctly, that ref Andy Haines, wasn't he the one who thought Adam Chambers tackle on Madders, that put him out for 3+ months, was perfectly ok ?
Had a chat with some of their fans afterwards & we agreed that he scaled new depths of ineptitude 2/10

p.s. I was at the match,
& found it hard to equate with one City fan who said 'What the f*** is he doing playing 3 centre forwards?
That was when with Sordell, McBean, & Wright, we'd got them severely rattled,
so much so that their defensive paring were having a less than delicate conversation with each other

I think McBean made a difference as his style offers something different to what we had. In my opinion, with the formation we play, he could be a good option going forward. Hold up play to bring the likes of Sordell, Reid,Wright & Jones into play as well as being a target for crosses. He's a bit raw and out of shape but nothing regular involvement shouldn't sort.

I went back in the bar at the ground after the game. Some of them were raving about Burge. They were in agreement that he was clearly MOTM. We was very lucky to escape with a draw. Then they had a supporters meeting. But will save that for another day. Not all good at Morecambe. Should be in bed by now.

Still not seen the Sterry goal. Was in the toilets under the stand when we scored with my little boy.
