"insert managers name" gives us a wave. Then let's all wave at said manager.

Do fuck off.

Also, any c**t who "starts the wave".

Oh and also the slow hand clap proper does my head in.

The shoes off thing is cringeworthy, especially when grown men are messing their pants with excitement

"ooh r ya" - predictable, gormless chant when a side scores. Even more cringing when the opposing team are less than worthy of the question.

Going back to the West End days it used to make me cringe when you'd get groups of lads singing"we'll see you all outside."
After the match they'd run away !

west end days , people used to chant if your all going to boro, clap your hands , most of the end joining in , next saturday turn up at hell holes like ayresome park, about 100 city fans , get a few slaps and such, it was like being " the christians thrown to the lions in the collusieum ", still wouldn't have missed it for the world.
nt have missed it though.

'Jesus give us a song', now that's shit! At least that's one positive about being at Sixfields, I don't have to listen to that.

wasn't it 'Get into 'em, f*ck the ball' - but then, I get most lyrics wrong and sing my own version!!

Most off the cuff one that made me laugh was when Stan Bowles missus had left him.

West End started with 'Stanley, Stanley where's your wife?' to which Stan Bowles just faced them and shrugged his shoulders as if to say 'Don't know'

West End then followed up with 'Stanley Bowles is a homosexual' - which was then followed up with 'That's why she left him'.

Not so funny written down, but it was a nice side-line to the game and Stan took it in his stride and played along with it.

The West End could be humorous at times remember Gordon Banks getting loads of stick whenever he came to us.
For some reason he got likened to a Monkey,so he got pelted once with Bananas, but he just casually ate one once !
And do recall that Bowles match, they were great characters though and took it all in their stride.

hesgot no hair n we dont care, the guy was a donkey Greg Downs
greg downs proper cult hero, remember we were winning at anfield 1-0 , about 2 minutes to go, right in front of the city fans, greggy trapped the ball, and sat down on it, baying ian rush to come and get it, the scousers in the crowd went wild, " kill the baldy bastard", they screamed , rush with steam coming out of his ears charged at downs, just at the moment of impact downs side stepped him and put the ball into row z of the main stand, turned around and bowed to the city fans, absolute legend, the scousers were going mental, we held out to win, and went in the "Arkells", after and sang the Greg Downs tune, with the scousers even joining in.
