Didn't go to this one - had a ticket for the Wedding Present down the Lanch that night. Wasn't gonna tempt fate with possible delays getting back.1-0 at Anfield City's first ever win at Liverpool Regis header out sung Kop all afternoon
That's right. Man City went 2-0 down to Liverpool at Maine Road then got it back to 2-2. Steve Lomas took the ball into the corner to run down the clock not realising they actually needed to score.Us, Southampton and Man City all won, we escaped last day 0-0 home to Leeds, fighting on the pitch at the end, Man City relegated
I bet the Barnsley lasses had bigger penises than you and your mates!Notts County away for pure football reasons.
Barnsley away in terms of memories, think it was a cup game, Leon Clarke scored and me and 3 mates decided to spontaneously book a hotel and go out celebrating. We met a group of Barnsley girls who enjoyed the hotel breakfast buffet the next morning.

The whole team was class. I was in the Dough Ellis stand along with hundreds of other skyblues. Everytime we scored someone around us celebrated and got marched out by the stewards, except when the fourth went in when the only fans left in the stand were pretty much all skyblue and everyone seemed to celebrate, the stewards couldn’t be bothered and any Villa fans left were outnumbered so there was no trouble. When we were walking back to the car though we did come across a lad who was 14, on his own and in a CCFC replica top being harassed by a fat gammon headed 40 something brummy Villa fan saying come on then, you’re not so hard when you’re not with your mates. We jumped in pointing out we were his mates and the gammon head did a quick one. Poor lad was shitting himself, I thought he was going to cry. He was walking to catch a train and worried he might bump into another idiot so we gave him a lift back to Cov.Villa 4-1 away for me 100% way out in front great day that was...Boateng was class.
That was probably the 1st away game I ever went to - went with a mate from school and his dad and uncle and sat in the stand opposite the tunnel. There seemed to be fighting all game on the South Bank as I don’t think there was much segregation back then.Broke down on the way to Wolves. Sat in the car listening to the radio. We arrived at half time 1-0 down somehow ended up in the Wolves end to watch a Ferguson hat trick for a 3-1 win
I was there that day too - travelled up on my own. Huckerby was immense that afternoon and Leeds list folded. As somebody else has already mentioned I was celebrating like a loon with complete strangers. That's the one Gynns. It was interesting as Whelan was viewed as the returning hero by the Leeds faithful whilst McAllister got all kinds of abuse.
Fantastic, fantastic moment when McAllister drilled home our penalty right in front of us - and boy did we celebrate.
The best part was the way we stuck with the team after going one nil down and immediately turned up the volume - and the team responded like a dream. Huckerby was sensational in sparking the comeback and created absolute panic - what a player he was.
Southend Away ... 2006 Friday night game, got to Southend at Midday for a 7.45pm kickoff. 20 degrees in October. The front was full of city. The pub by the ground was rammed with city fans dancing on the tables. Guy we were with told the bar staff to 'shut that screaming bitch up on the Karaoke' staff member said it was his daughter and barred him . Won 3-2 with an Adebola winner on 80 mins after Freddy Eastwood had scored twice for them. Awesome day all round.
Special mention for West Brom away 2006-2007 ish? Mifsud had been banned for an elbow in the cup game against West Brom at the Ricoh I think we lost the cup game 5-0? His first game back after the ban was West Brom Away in the league... Tuesday night, won 4-2 after their keeper got sent off for handling outside the area Mifsud scored I think and the Cov fans sung Boing Boing all the way back to the train station.
Special mention for Notts County away in playoff semi... Absolutely awesome and atmosphere incredible
You are correct, Dean Keily should have been sent off for handling outside the area but wasnt. Paul Robinson sent off. 2 from Best 2 from MifsudIt was their LB, wasn’t it (Robinson?)? Thug of a player. Idiot as well, they’d come from 2-0 down back level and were all over us and he chopped down one of ours (I can’t remember who). I could see my mate and his dad in the baggies end from where I was, it was lovely!
The 4-0 at the Den under Mowbray was delightful.
Tottenham away to stay up, think it was 97.
I agree it was a great win. It was a game that I was scared sh1t walking back to the car. A group of 5 of us were attacked by some rabid Stokies, I have never ran quicker in my life but luckily a rain downpour made them less interested. Those were the days !Stoke away 1985, 1st of 3 wins on the trot to stay up

The three wins at mk dons were all brilliant away days.
3-2 in robins' first spell around xmas, Stephen Elliott scored twice
3-1 during the sixfields season with Chris Maguire's two free kicks, unreal
1-0 fa cup with biamou's goal Infront of 8k cov fans
Some great memories.
The best I have been at are
Man City 3-1 in the cup 1982. The sending off of Hartford and Bodaks lob at the end to seal victory.
Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 in the cup QF 1987. The atmosphere with 14k sky blue fans in fantastic voice. Cyril was superb.
Prelude to THAT Sunday morning at HR against Everton - 4-1 in the sunshine. Though the number 12 bus back home was gonna tip over with everyone jumping up and down on the top deck.Remember it well. 3 games left, season virtually over, looking like relegation
A handful of us went on the coach from Leamington ( the old CCFC supporters club run by Gordon and Malcom). Friday night, feeling pretty hopeless to be honest but Stole already down and very few people there.
Stuart Pearce penalty in front of City fans, 1-0, bit of hope and the rest is history...

I was a long, long way from home that day.For those of us who love our punk the damned played the poly that night as well.
Pretty much the perfect day!
Stoke also had a penalty in the last few minutes. Stoke were an awful team that season and to be honest, on the night we weren't much better. Ian Painter, who later joined us, took the penalty. If he had scored, we were down. Fortunately his penalty was as bad as his team's performance (I think he hit the bar). We survived needing to beat Luton and Everton in the next two games to stay up.Remember it well. 3 games left, season virtually over, looking like relegation

I was there too...Alan Green on radio 5 afterwards, got slated because all he talked about was Blackburn this and Blackburn that, barely mentioning Cov and their great performance. The 5-2 away to Blackburn was a special evening for the 600 odd of us that was there all talk before the game was of Blackburn going top once they beat us went absolutely mental when the 4th went in giving us the 2 goal cushion with minutes to spare stood open mouthed after the 5th enjoying the spectacle of city fans going berserk
Yes CWR didn't do the commentary that night but came direct from Radio 5. He slagged us off all night, pathetic following (there was around 600 on a shit Tuesday night 120 miles away) pathetic performance (we just won 2-5 away at the team in 2nd who were at the time buying the title). The moron was on another planet and I still don't like him to this day after that.I was there too...Alan Green on radio 5 afterwards, got slated because all he talked about was Blackburn this and Blackburn that, barely mentioning Cov and their great performance.

Complete bellend. I remember him absolutely laying into Raheem Sterling when he was 18 and still at Liverpool. Said something along the lines of he’s not a footballer. Think that shows just how limited his football knowledge is.He's an absolute c**t.
Alex Ferguson hates him with a passion.
Surprised about that-always thought he was very Liverpool biased.Complete bellend. I remember him absolutely laying into Raheem Sterling when he was 18 and still at Liverpool. Said something along the lines of he’s not a footballer. Think that shows just how limited his football knowledge is.
Did read or was told that Alan Green didn't commentate on Lee Hirst goal because at the time he was moaning about our kit for the game as we were in the red ribbero shirtsI was there too...Alan Green on radio 5 afterwards, got slated because all he talked about was Blackburn this and Blackburn that, barely mentioning Cov and their great performance.
