Currently sitting in 7th, within a hair's breadth of the playoffs.

However, the games in hand come home to roost over the next two weeks - there are midweek games in which we make no appearance. Given that we have difficult games at Deepdale and Bramall Lane, we could find ourselves middling at best shortly.

Cue the negativity and 'only 10 points off relegation' by 1 February.

Not all the teams with games in hand can win because a lot are playing each other. We will end up about 5 points off playoffs I reckon

5 -7 points off the play offs mid February in a rich vein of form, final of JPT to come. Yep I think I'll take that thank you

Since Robins came in we've picked up 40 points in 21 game, near as dammit 2 pts per game, if this continues for the remaining 17 games we will get another 32-34 points which will give us 75 - 77 points. My only concern is that in the past we have got to a decent postion mid season and have had an ability to massively fuck things up when getting in a to challenge for top six finish, however, this team and manager seems to have a different mentality and belief so hopefully we can make Wembley twice this year. the past few years i have always said, we start our season well and then go shite through christmas and do reasonable at the end. This year we started shite, done reasonable through christmas so now i guess its just to finish our season well thats to come :D. And people called me mad when i said we would do the double ;)

Ditto!!

We have to expect that some teams will pick up some points and we must expect to lose a little ground, but if we can be within 6 points after the games in hand, then that is just 2 wins.

Got to be happy with that.

Really depressing starter post bud!!! All we can do is keep picking up points, you don't hold out much hope of getting points at preston and utd, I think differently! At this point, teams DO NOT want to play us in the form we are in, I think they are a little more worried about us that the other way around at the moment.

Utter crap

Games in hand dont ensure you will lose ground. For all we know we could be in the exact same position when those games have been played. And even if they do get the results so what? We can make it up. We're in form, we got a great squad and there are still additions to be made, so i still think we can make the play-offs comfortably. Hard work and faith, thats all we need

If the teams with games in hand were somehow nailed-on to win these games, they'd already be out of reach.

The good thing for City is the pressure is off us. We've done our bit and the teams below with games in handhave to match up to us.
A second thing in our favour is we will only be playing one game a week up until the Sheffield game where the others will be playing two.
In Robins we trust.

We just have to play our games and not worry about the rest. Just win our games thats all CCFC can do.

There is no doubt we will drop in the table.

We've stayed in the Premiership before now thanks to other people's results going our way. We've an ok history when it comes to lucking out on other people's results, not perfect, but an ok history. We're on the crest of a wave of positivism. It only feels right that we should be pushing for promotion to the championship in the same season that Villa are fighting not to get relegated to the championship ;).

I bet the teams above us are looking forward to playing us (other than the ones we have beat recently)

We have been slowly climbing the table for weeks. Why should it stop now?

I think at this stage thats all we can do, I said before the Oldham game we'd be further away from the playoffs come mid February than we are now, purely because there are so many midweek games between now and then.

The games against the likes of Bournemouth, Sheff Utd, Brentford are absolutely key now as beating those teams is the quickest way of closing the gap. We have to remember that Bournemouth are our immediate target as they are 6th. They have lost once in 19 games (which was last weekend), their home record since Eddie Howe went back is payed 9 = 7 wins 2 draws.

I think Tranmere, Donny, Brentford, Swindon, Bournemouth are all shoe-ins for the top 6. That leaves Sheff Utd who sem to be the only team in there who are wobbling. Beat them next Friday and they might just become our big target.

No one wants to finish in the top 6 more than me, but it is still going to take a super human effort to get there.......
