Moving out of Coventry (1 Viewer)

All this talk of the club moving out of Coventry

I assume most would agree that a move of let's say over 10-15 miles away would likely again result in crowds of 1000-2000. The proof is based on last time.

The aim of the move last time was to devalue ACL and either get it for less or possibly nothing.

What would SISU gain from such a move this time. What good does a football team playing in front of 1000 fans do for them.

If they decide to stick with the club self funding then we are talking back to back relegations due to such attendances.

Whether you believe they would be allowed or not I fail to see a reason why they actually would.

It seems the legal action is the only way to recoup money and I don't think the legal action requires continued ownership of the club

Does anybody actually know a reason SISU would continue as owners and move out. If it is to a distance away similar to last time?

If it was 10-15 miles away and the reason we had to move is because wasps wouldn't let us stay at the Ricoh, there would be far more than 1-2k fans. I never went to sixfielda but if it was the aforementioned scenario I would attend.

I would get a season ticket in that scenario. 15 miles is nothing really.

Its about 8 miles from the Ricoh to canley, 10-15 miles is nothing.

I think we would be ok with 10-15 miles crowd wise anymore and I think we will find ourselves in the Northampton scenario again

I still really think you are missing something..

There is 1 stadium in Coventry, Wasps own it

No I get that point, I just think if SISU continue with the legal action and Wasps don't negotiate I can see SISI choosing to do a Northampton again. I see nothing in it for them.

They wont be choosing to will they?

Or are you trying to start spinning it that way early?

Of course. It is what he does - lose an argument on a thread and start another.

Attention seeking twaddle.

They may choose whether to take city out of Coventry or choose to ditch Coventry full stop is the point I am making.
If I was them because of the reasons listed above unless I could arrange something locally I wouldn't be taking Coventry off to Northampton.

Would you and if you would what would your plan be?

I am not sure why there is another thread?

Where locally are they going to play?

Close this nonsense and stop giving him an audience.

Same here. They key thing from the clubs perspective is their PR in such a scenario. They have to make sure it is very clear the club has been forced out.

Because all the talk is about SISU having to move us again.

I am asking if, it's not locally why would they?

So far I haven't had an answer that makes sense as to why they would bother. Hence why Grendel wants the thread closed. It is dawning on him that SISU have absolutely nothing to gain from doing a Northampton again

You are not getting the point Dave.
If they can't move locally. What have they actually got to gain from another Northampton type of move.
Ask yourself what actually is in it for them to do that?

Why would they? The only reason I can see is if wasps continue to refuse to negotiate and do a deal. I like the way you're already parking the responsibility on sisu, when its wasps who are refusing to talk.

But who is saying there is? You are still very much not acknowledging that it wouldn't be through choice.

There is nowhere else to play, Wasps won't negotiate...

It just looks by the way you are working things that you are trying to deflect any blame from anybody but sisu early.

Because there are no stadiums locally, and there is not much of an option is there?

You were failing to understand about the council and the Butts earlier and just completely ignored it, and are doing the same again.

Stu think past been unable to get a deal here.
Ask yourself why would they repeat Northampton now.
Before it was to starve
(Poor Willis)

I will put it clearer

Nick what do SISU do in Northampton in front of 1000 fans. If they can't afford to build a new stadium.
What's the end game then?
Why go there, would you not be better off at that stage walking away?

What options have they got?

Who is going to buy a club at the mercy of Wasps, Council and CSF?

The only option is if they have another Haskell lined up to step in and takeover the club and it is a forced takeover like before.

Or they just cut the budgets accordingly so it keeps breaking even.

Fuck me this is groundhog day.

OK don, why do you think if wasps won't do a deal with sisu they will move us temporarily out of Coventry again?

They would only have the last option and I would guess that's worth doing when you have an outside chance of promotion to the championship.
When you are playing in front of 1000-2000 and doing that you are only going one way.
So in those circumstances why would they bother?

I do get the point but I don't know what you are expecting them to do if Wasps won't agree a new deal?

Its seeming like you and Italia are hoping SISU will liquidate the club.

They will just cut the cloth, so it breaks even won't they?

Less money coming in, will be less money going out.

I think what he is hinting at is that there would be nowhere left for Sisu to go (if the legals fail too). They would be playing in front of tiny crowds, probably with us in League Two, or certainly struggling at the wrong end of League One, with no hope of any reprise.

Think Don is simply saying, what's the point for Sisu? At the moment there is just the glimmer of hope that maybe we can gain promotion this season, or maybe next. Maybe somehow get a deal.

We move away, in front of much, much smaller crowds, then there is surely nothing left for Sisu and all but no hope for us.

Are people going to be lining up to buy a club in our position?

The legals would be ongoing as would JR2, in fact being forced out by Wasps might strengthen JR2.

I don't think they will liquidate the club. Who is hoping for anything and if you get the point.
Can you answer why they would choose a Northanpton scenario again.
What do they have to gain from that scenario?
