And this is where selling young home-grown talent becomes essential to further future growth. All I'm saying is that hopefully we are now in a better position to get the best possible deal for the club. How many times in the past have we lost players for nothing because contracts have been neglected and allowed to run down. Or taking offers (that most accept)were below market value because it seems we had no one at the club who had a clue what they were doing.
Maybe contracts haven't been neglected maybe offers have been made then their agents tout round other clubs to get better deals for their players ... greedy bleeding agents
Let's face it, if someone like Arsenal spends £5m on him, they're bound to get at worst £2-3m back when they sell him on if it doesn't work out just because he's come from Arsenal. If it works out he's a £10-20m player. It's just like us spending £100k on a lower league player, except if we weren't broke.
