Ok some suggestions that should not break the bank
a proper mobile vending set up to sell club stock on match days or in town centre at other times - if we cant have a shop at ground at least be professional as to how we sell stuff there
stock the club shop - that would make a change!
review performance of the marketing staff and change if appropriate - has the marketing management been up to it?
free tickets to schools (not sold even at discount)- its advertising, inclusive and encourages allegiance
free tickets to SBITC - its advertising, inclusive and encourages allegiance
Review costs of boxes and link to hospitality - encourage people to spend
sell season tickets on instalments without an interest charge (no consumer credit licence necessary then) - not had a licence for years, the application is not difficult but it could be an exempt situation anyway
Approach wasps to see what other income streams or share of they could get. - might be non starter but do we know?

there is a start Godiva ....... some might argue that some wont work..... but unless asked wont get........ over to you and everyone else .......

The problem is most factors are against him staying. They may be able to sort out a playing budget but the back room support at the club also needs an overhaul. I just don't see the owners having the appetite or probably the ability to make it happen.

The other danger anyway is that he is a free agent in a weeks time. I can't believe a better club in the league above won't come for him.

If he was to stay then a the above would have to be in place and a contract waiting for him to sign the minute the clubs survival is confirmed. This may a be in place - I highly doubt it though.

I think you're wrong...as I keep saying, TM has an old fashioned streak in him, and it's to do with loving football and loving the challenge, not entering the commercial market and fighting for the next job. He has a job, one he clearly enjoys, and he's ambitious for US...he keeps talking about returning us to our rightful status, and I believe him. I would be seriously surprised if he didn't stay and continue the great job he's doing.

Text-a- ... no not a sub, but MOM (home games).
People can during the game text their MOM and at the final whistle the result is displayed.
The proceeds is then shared:
15% to the MOM player
10% price draw by all contributors
75% to the club

£0.75 per text (plus cost) - approx. 3000 per game
£350 to the player
£250 to the draw winner
£2.000 to the club - £50.000 per season.

Why would he not stay ?
As for providing adequate funds that will always depend on the SISU master plan and I would think behind closed doors TM will have a good idea what that is. If they want to sell on and move on at a price they need the football club at least looking healthier than we do at the present time.
As I said a lot will depend on the secret master plan from our owners.

Here's another - bet that is original.

Buy an evening with a player.
A group of up to 5 people can buy an evening with a player of their choice.
The group pay £350 to the club plus dinner (no alcohol to the player!).
The evening could start at Ryton with a guided tour and an hours fun with a ball.
Everyone get's a signed shirt.

Actually Godiva I think CC4L has a point. I think that the money going to a charity rather than player would be a better idea. It points to social responsibility, inclusiveness, good ethics, doing the right thing, caring. All good valuable PR for the club. Also in theory because the player receives it by virtue of his employment it could be taxable. Average wage in L1 is something like £1800pw a lot of fans are nowhere near that

Agreed, I'd do 50% to club, 50% to players Charity (a charity chosen by man of the match, not a charity for players) and the winner gets some sort of ccfc based gift, like a box for a game for them and their friends or something and a visit from the manager and their chosen man of the match at their prize game.

I think this makes it an appealing thing for people to enter, there is a fun prize to win, you are helping the club and doing some good in the world as well.

I'd put a video of the player getting the man of the match award on the website after each game with the player being interviewed and where the player chooses the charity.

I've said this multiple times before but I really think we should scrap the scg and replace it with a moderated website where anyone with a supporter number (that has brought a ticket in the last year for instance) can log in and post and vote on things, there would be competitions to design flags and banners, questions on things like goal music, just a way for the club to get opinions from fans, to find out what is important to various groups and to make people feel engaged with the club.

Think how engaged and part of the club we'd feel if the club had started a thread asking for opinions on how to generate more revenue or on how to award man of the match, you'd suggested and idea and it had been tweaked by CC4L, OSB, myself and whoever else it would feel like we were part of the club. At the moment rather than feeling part of the club I'm kinda disgusted by it's actions instead and they don't get my money.

Thing is the club is owned by bankers - not entrepreneurs. In their world innovation is about new ways at circumventing the tax laws. They dream of assets and liabilities not profit and losses.

Asking them to come up with innovative new ideas is like asking me to build a spaceship.
If we want innovation, we must help them.

Here's something they could do if they ever build a new stadium: Make it Englands first large(ish) Green Stadium. Think 'green' in everything from electricity, water and waste management efficiency to solar panels on the roof, wind turbines outside the ground, harvest kinetic energy in the concourses ... Fill the offices with small companies/entrepreneurs in green tech.
There are EU money available to help fund this kind of things.
Bring that idea to the council and maybe it could be build it inside the city boundaries?

These are smart (well supposedly) well (over) paid people who should know their limitations and should know to employee people to fill the roles they can't and know how to harness (cloudfund if you will) the knowledge and resources of the fans.

It sounds awesome, it would get loads of free publicity and loads of companies wanting to be associated with it, I don't know (as in have no idea) whether it's actually viable though, there are massive (really massive) extra costs to doing something like this. The rules and regulations for getting the higher levels of green building awards are kinda ridiculous (for homes anyway, I'm not sure about commercial buildings) Think of the amount of concrete that goes into a new stadium doing it green is going to cost a fortune. Let me start with your last sentence - the reason it's not done more than it is, is because of ignorance. Not many company managers care about 'green tech', CO2 emission, waste management, water conservation, renewable energy or any of that stuff, because 1) they don't have to and 2) it's not immediately profitable.

Anyway - if someone at the club did a google search on EU funds for green tech initiatives he/she would be blown away.

It can be done and it can be done with lots of EU funds.

It is due to ignorance, and a "we have always done things a certain way" attitude, along with pressure to build high density properties. Some strategic planning could make this happen a lot more. The technology is there - but Govt policy isn't - in the long run the country would save money and be far more resilient to a changing climate (quite nice to talk work stuff on here for a change)

If it's possible it would be great, it would be awesome for the club to be involved in something good too, something you can be proud of rather than embarrassed by. I'm still sceptical though (while hardly a good comparison) seeing people build green homes on grand designs can really add horrendously to the costs and it's much easier to avoid using an extreme amount of concrete and minimise waste on a house than it would be on a stadium.

Of course you wouldn't necessarially have to go the whole hog and make a green stadium, if there is a chuck of funds for installing solar panels and that lowers running costs then it would be worth doing, not that we've seen any long term thinking from sisu up to now and of course we aren't building a stadium.

It depends what you are trying to do if you are just aiming to lower running costs through better energy efficiency/generation/reuse then sure the extra costs won't be horrific and will hopefully pay for themselves over the medium/long term especially if you are helped by grants. If you are trying to do something newsworthy though and be a true green stadium ie you are going to build it in a green way then the extra costs are going to be horrific. The amount of extra work that goes into dramatically minimising what goes to land fill costs a fortune, Concrete is awful for the environment and consider how much of it you use in a stadium, building in a green way and minimising the carbon footprint is extremely expensive.

anyway not really worth debating as none of us really know how much the extra costs would be and we all seem to agree it's a great idea if it is feasible cost wise.
