Who? Nobody as rich as Wigan next season. Sack Mowbray and appoint? Come on expert. You have piped up again. Last I heard you wrote the season off after the friendly at Nuneaton.

You do realise the clubs coming down will have parachute payments and get bigger crowds than us...

They have bigger budgets.

Ever since we started signing the likes of Hunt, Ramage, Henderson etc...Mowbray upset the team spirit.

Mowbray has messed this up so bad this season.

Getting out of L1 will get more and more difficult each year now as teams are coming down with more and more money.

We needed players, frees and loans the only option. Loans were maxed.
What would you of done different??
This is league one, is not easy to get out if that's why sheff Utd are still here.

I for one don't know why we signed Hunt when Hooi was a better option. Kent went back to Liverpool and we needed another winger. Hooi went back to Holland and said in an interview he got wind Cov were signing an ex Premiership player.

He must be laughing at us now...

My point is overall...what has Ramage, Hunt, Henderson etc actually done for us? Ramage has been sent on loan, Hunt I don't know where he is? and Henderson...well he showed his ability falling over like a donkey.

We didn't need to sign any of those players.

What's shocking is the run we have been on since Christmas. Mowbray hasn't got the answers.

I know L1 is difficult and it will be tougher next year with especially MK Dons and Charlton more so than Bolton (they're in trouble).

You know nothing about Hooi apart from YouTube you crank. Hunt admittedly dreadful. Kent went back at the end of his loan and Liverpool subsequently played him.

For your info I have a friend who is Dutch and said he was good enough to do a job for us.

Anyway your posts shows your level of intelligence. Not sure why on every post you have to resort to insults.

I'm a sky blue fan and this is what I think. You have an issue then reply with some conversation.

Yes but the January transfer window is like going and finding out 80% of the shop is unavailable unless you pay 250k for it. All that's left is the stuff that' been on the shelves for several months and past its sell by date or loan items and we know what problems that brings. Its not to do with not being allowed to bring players in, its the availability of good players at that time of the season.

I get what you're saying but the only player we lost in January was Kent. Other teams in this division didn't go out and spend loads so how did everyone suddenly become so much better than us?

Not like its been a slight dip in form, its been a disaster.

Hunt, Henderson and Ramage have been unsuccessul
Yes. No doubt but then they've hardly played and thus are irreverent ish.

At least he's recognised they're all poor signings by not playing any of them. That leaves the core squad which just isn't good enough.

Your Dutch friend - I know loads of English people yet none told me how shit numerous players are we've signed ha ha ha.

I conceded Hunt was a poor signing but he's hardly played so it's immaterial. Granted he's taking a wage potentially but again not sure if it's pay as you play.

And who's fault is it that the core squad is rubbish?

That team and squad out there is pretty much all of Mowbray's signings.

That's the thing, other teams didn't go and spend millions but then caught up and over took us!

Other teams haven't got massive budgets bar Wigan, yet the fleetwoods have shown us up!

I also went out with a Dutch girl once. She was very tall.

She said if we started playing 4-1-2-2-1 then we'd have success beyond our wildest dreams.

Damn you Strachan, Nilsson, Reid, Adams for not listening.

I agree with you about Hooi, we have no natural width so he could well of been ideal.
Ramage was a last resort signing was not the answer and I'm sure TM has admitted as much. Hands tied.
Henderson is different to what we had, experienced. Was never brought in for his goals more what he offers in size and bulk. Like he did against Rochdale I think it was. Gave us a target, a force up front and caused trouble. Yes v Peterborough was not pretty, over all not worked. Again a option but hands tried.
Hunt was most likely his biggest mistake, billed for his ability to pick a pass others like Murphy/job could not see. Hunts not performed.
You say we didn't need these players, ramage we did.... Hunt, maybe not. Henderson yes, as we needed a brutal striker with fight and aggression, he's just a bit to past it for what we really need.
If we'd of had a full strength defence we could well of got in suitable wingers or strikers in to support AA and a confidence shot Murphy.

He brought Henderson in, then doesn't change the tactic and system to suit.

Defensive injuries (Reda, Turner, Martin, Stokes, Cargill), Kent going back and the loss of form of Murphy and to a lesser extent Armstrong I would say have have been the overriding factors in our plummet.

Mowbray has tried to replace the injured players and bring in reinforcements to help the forward players, but due to the reasons I've already discussed in this thread he's found it hard to to find players of the required standard during mid season.

How would your friend know if Hooi could have done a job in league one football? Is he Frank De Boer? If not then why should we listen to your friends opinion over that of : TM, JC, MV and Oggy?

Previous regimes is why the core is rubbish... Not scouting network to instantly fall back on to impact the team
Poor core base of players contracted to the squad to build a quality team from.
This demonstrates stability is key, a base and identity needs creating before any success can be had.
I do agree the system does not suit a Henderson type who I think suits a 442, tho we have no wide players. So cannot play the system around him effectively to warrant the change of system.

It's due to SP that were down to the bones of a poor squad of players with no scouting network.
Presley left us a midfield of finch, fleck and Thomas. Strikers nouble and Jackson.

That scouting story was proven to be bullshit. There's not a lot between TM and SP in managerial ability, as their records show.

So, TM, JC, MV and Oggy made the right decision by signing Hunt instead of Hooi?

I think I will go with my friends recommendation who has watched Dutch football for 30 years that he is good enough for L1 football...

What we have here is the current management make knee jerk signings who can't cut it in football anymore.

I've not seen anything to say it was bullshit so I'll leave that as a difference of opinion.
Only thing I'll say is if there was a suitable scouting network in place, records and evidence to make firm efforts to bring them scouted targets in. Why did TM only go with Ricketts and vincelot? Why was no one else off this scouting network brought in? Out of all the free's avaliable in the summer we don't go for 4/5 of them.

I have severe doubts about Mowbray now but I'd still give him until the end of his contract. Maybe he can learn from his mistakes and fashion a better team and tactics next season. Losing 1-0 to the top team would not be seen as a disaster in isolation, only in our current dismal run of form. We do need a major overhaul in the close season.

Fucking hell FP, they've hardly played because he got them in and found they were nowhere near good enough.
That's his fault.
And that cannot be excused.

Maybe he should of got 5 more loans, might of pleased everyone!
What do people expect to get in January?
The summer is where our business is done.

Here is another scenario: you need players to strengthen squad, you know what you want but are not available on your budget. So you either sign no one and leave yourself exposed through lack of bodies. Or you sign some fading stars who have been there and done that. They are lacking matches but you hope they can catch up.

Basically do you leave yourself with no one or gamble on a few old pros having an Indian summer?

Spot on! Most seem to think we should of done something... Not sure what just something. Oh and it's all TM's fault.

Hunt has proven himself in England unlike Hooi? So watching football makes you a good scout? Pretty sure TM has watched around 50 years of football?
