Mowbray needs to go (1 Viewer)

If has the summer to build his own squad and is backed like he has been this season ie.....
If he gets another budget reportedly 8th-6th in this division.

If by Xmas we are not 6th-8th or above I would have to concede to the Mowbray out mob

So being 9th is right on parr with our budget.

Bingo.....

We are league one. Every club is the same and they.are all out witting us.

If he's a great manager we wouldn't have this losing streak, he would address it.

A great manager would adjust the system to the players and opposition

I don't believe we have a bigger budget unless it's being spent on a couple of players.
The whole club structure behind the team is stagnant.

Sisu are rotten to the core and we are stuck with them.

Ok so we have a lower budget than all the teams who have found us out and beat us.

If we had a good manager he would get the best out of what he had wouldn't he

I can win the league every time on football manager with money cheats on. ..

As I said earlier today... People saying we are better off now than last year will be wrong at the end of the season. We are currently projecting a finish of 16th if not worse on our form.

I've decided - I'm in the 'keep him' camp. Not because I like him or necessarily believe he will turn things around or believe it should be his reward for keeping us up so early (We can't be relegated, right???) Purely from a financial point of view, wear his contract down and see where we are at that stage. If it's acceptable then nothing more than 12 month rolling contract. If in the meantime he decides to walk, then so much the better.

He said this would happen, but didn't do anything to prevent it.

That's what worries me. If he keeps his job and we're top next Xmas what then?

At Middlesbrough I was top of the table two times on the bounce on New Years Day and missed out on the play-offs.

That was after we beat Gills and went top.

It's not the managers it's the owners.
More interest off the field than on the field.

How have you worked that out? Mowbray only agreed to take the job when he got what he wanted. He has a decent budget and, along with Venus, total control of the football side. Can you honestly say with the players he has at his disposal you would expect the form we have had for the last few months?

No chance, it's not acceptable.

So the first four months of this season were scotch mist?

And he he said don't get carried away, and we did, we had turner and reda for those first four months, we were never going to replace them, we were always going to struggle with no back four, id have taken 9th the start of the season and build on it next season.

He predicted it would go downhill but didn't do anything about it.

The form and the games we are losing isn't acceptable

If I ever announce at the beginning of a season that I'd settle for ninth place in division 3, I kindly ask that somebody shoot me in the face.

Yes, we'd have all gladly taken 9th at the start of the season but not (and quite rightly) at the start of this year. By the way - we won't be finishing anywhere near 9th!
So you really think all of our problems lie with our admittedly decimated back four? Not concerned with Tono's selection, decision making (or lack of it) during a game or general relationship with the squad?

Why oh why when he was asked this question pre Xmas didn't he say I'm very confident we won't fall away I have total confidence in the team and my staff to prevent this. It would have sent out a positive message to everyone that this will not happen.

instead he said meekly " this could happen again as it's happened before", fuck me say I will not accept this will happen infact Ithink we will win the league.

it just sends the wrong message out to the young players, be more assertive Mowbray and demand that any implosion wil never happen again.

If we'd been hovering around this position all season you could sensibly say that it's an improvement on last year, but when you have the few months we did and then the form since Christmas it's an alarming slump and there's no real way to sugar coat that.

Of course they do..take the captain out of any side and they'd struggle, look at all the daft goals we've given away, how many have been from corners or balls just pumped into the box. If players can't do the basics it's not mowbrays fault, reda was playing we weren't giving daft goals away,

It is if he signed them, the captain hasn't been taken out of our team?

If we give daft goals from corners then work on it in training...

you can work on it in training all you want....look at the first Peterborough goal...centre half goes wandering and fortune decides to go awol...if reda was playing that isn't a goal..you can tell mowbrays just as pissed off as we are, don't make the best manager we've had in years leave, give him time. He's taken us from relegation battlers to nearly play offs, let him build on what he's started this season

The same Johnson who gets injured every season? You plan for it.

How many other games have we lost?

wer'e a league one club with no money playing in a ground we don't own, not exactly going to attract the players we need are we...so all the people saying Mowbray should be sacked what should he have done then ?

We are a league one club, thankfully we play in league one with other league one clubs who have smaller budgets. Some of which have recently given us a lesson in how to win a game and see it out.

Completely agree. 4 wins and 19 points in 21 games in the second half of the season is not progress not to mention 9 losses in our last 13 games. Like you say had we been around this position all season it would have been progress, Had we started the season poor then improved like Barnsley, it would have been progress.

This doesn't fell like progress, it feels like we dropped on lucky with loan players (who won't be here next season) all hitting form together in a perfect storm then a crash back down to normality.

Said it on a few threads but Jan was an absolute disaster. Wasn't a big fan of Kent but to not replace him and then later let O'Brien go was lunacy. Left us with only Murphy on that side (who has been horrific since before Christmas). Having just read the interview after tonights game where Mowbray is bemoaning the lack of goals has infuriated me. How he has persisted with Fortune up front on his own in this formation and been surprised by the lack of goals is astounding.

Figured out what he keeps doing wrong. I mean FFS, the guy even said we were likely to implode after xmas as still couldn't stop it. If he's identified his faults and we still have them he's just inept.

It all comes down to team selection and favourites.

JOB, Lameiras, Tudgay are examples of players who should have been given more time this season.

Murphy, Ricketts, Cole (sadly) are examples of players who have somehow been undroppable after consistently poor performances.

His man management has been all wrong and ultimately it has cost us. Now I fear we have a broken dressing room.

More interest off the field than on the field.

Mowbrays a great manager expected to work with average kids (if they are good they are sold), journey men and loanees.

Jones needs to be bought now before someone steps in.

Finally, some common sense. Owners couldnt give a shit if we are in Championship or Conference, so long as they do not have to put any money in. It started to go tits up when Waggott or someone fucked up the budget and instead of 11k break even, it became 14k. Maddison sold and form turned to shit. Also cruel luck losing Reda has not helped.

To be fair that's probably the one thing I'd let him off with. He seemed to be handling Reda well until he got a freak injury not related to anything he had before. He then got Turner in as a replacement, a great signing, only for him to get injured as well!

As big as those injuries were they can't be the reason for the season totally collapsing.

Is this the kind of club we are now? If things aren't working straight away we'll just scrap it all and start again? Is that what people genuinely want? Is this going to be our existence from now on? Just randomly appointing managers hoping that one day we might get lucky and have a good season so we can get back to the Championship. I mean fuck a long term plan or building for the future or any of the boring shit. Mowbray has in no way done a good job this season but look at it logically, if we sack him what's more likely to happen? A. we appoint Mr. Unnamed Super Manager who magically signs a load of amazing players and gets us promoted within one season or B. we appoint another mediocre manager who signs some bang average players with his now reduced budget as we of course have to pay Mowbray and his backroom staff off and we stumble to another midtable finish? Now, as an alternative we could give Mowbray another season and another summer transfer window to try and turn things around and hopefully learn from the mistakes of this season and then at the end of the season if significant progress hasn't been made we don't renew his contract and we bring someone else in. Sacking a manager after only a year in charge when we aren't even under the threat of relegation and weren't even really fancied for promotion in the preseason is short-term mental at it's finest and not what this club needs. I bet it's the same pricks on here who cry when we sell players because "we're only thinking of the short term" that want us to be sacking managers after a year in charge. This club is rotten to the fucking core, fans included.

TM and MV did have total control of the footballing side until CA arrived. And then it all went to shit. I reckon the management and players have already made plans to be somewhere else next season.

How is that different to the likes of Burton, Walsall, Gillingham et al who all get less crowds than us and on lower budgets?

They have built their sides over about three seasons.
