"In this 14 games we have to avoid relegation. I'm here for a bigger picture than 14 games, hopefully next season to get this side back in the Championship."

Good he's cleared it up. Maybe we can stop moaning and use the energy on backing him. Stranger things have happened.

"The contract allows me to see how the club functions, there is potential for a much longer period ahead."

'We will beat relegation'
"The league table shows got 14 games to go and they are where they are after 30-odd games.
"It's all about confidence, belief and tinkering with things here and there and I'm confident we can beat relegation.
"We're only 12 points off the play-offs and if we beat Barnsley tonight and then win the next match.
"I'm looking forward to getting among the group and giving them some inspiration and ideas until end of season. It gives me an opportunity to see how things work and the club to see how I work. I think it's going to be fine.
"The players understand there's a potential for much longer term and to build beyond this short period."

"The fans are there at home waiting, it's my job to ignite the passion that is inside of them and to make them proud again, it's a game of the people, let's forget the money."

The end-of-the-season one can be read both ways. Positive and McGoldrickesque-negative.

Still, we are where we are; and he's got one simple job to do. Being frank, considering our options in this league is a whole lot more palatable than settling down for a season in the fourth tier.

I can't look at him and not think of Freddie Krueger though...

Aiming for the Championship and beyond
"In an ideal world it would be pre-season so we have to hit the game running.
"In this first 14 games we have to avoid relegation but I'm here for the bigger picture.
"I'm here, hopefully to put Coventry City back into the Championship and then after that, I have talked to the owners about Norwich City and Southampton going through two divisions.
"They had a structure that carried them through one division and anoher. It's a big, big ask but it can be done if a structure is in place.
"We need the help of some good players and the fanbase"
"The fans are sitting there at home and it's my job to ignite the passion in them."

He has answered some of the worries over a short term deal. I'm a little more excited again now. For once we have someone talking sense and stating some very positive stuff. He obviously believes he can get among the players and make a difference immediately?
That's interesting confidence! He's right though to talk about a big club should have a better attitude towards winning. For me its the tonic we needed.

Wonder, do the bookies have to pay out on such a short term appointment Guessing they must. Knew when I awoke, there was a shock in store.

Yes I had £700 at even money and they have paid out already. Thank fuck

"If they they can get 32,000 for the JPT game against Crewe then they can come out again
"There's a romantic in me and also a realist that you have to win games. But it's not a crime to win football matches with the ball rather than counter attacking football without it.
"If confidence is a bit low at the moment we have to find a way to win some football matches. They found a way with 33 per cent possession at the weekend
"In this league, Coventry City, have good enough footballers to play with the ball, particularly at the Ricoh Arena."

A side with exciting players
"I have spent a lot of time on my laptop watching games over the last few days. Fleck is a very technical player and Barton has caught my eye.
"I know Luke Williams from Middlesbrough and he's a talent who is here to toughen up. These players just need some belief and confidence to get winning a few games.
"It's my job to inspire them."

'Let the politics take care of themselves'
"I am very aware of the problems the club has faced but not overly concerned about that. I let the politics take care of themselves. I have met the owners and enjoyed their company, my football philosophy and how we deal with human beings."

"I'd love to see a scouting system in place, where we can get people going to games to find new exciting players."

I thought we had a scouting system now?

'Need to light the touch paper'
"There's a budget and management is about using that budget and showing the owner to light the touch paper and she's excited by that and sees the fans coming back.
"What I will be asking her about is the scouting network. I want a system in place where we can get people going to games to find new exciting players."

I thought it was the old boys network thing.

I don't think so, I'm sure Pressley kept saying how are scouting system was non existent when he arrived and how it was getting better and we had people watching games in all different parts of the UK now. He said they had Dominic Samuel watched quite a lot I believe so there must have been somebody doing something.

'Not manufactured'
"It's intriguing for me and it excited me in my belly."
"I like to think I am a real human being and when I talk it's real, not manufactured and I hope people feel my inert love of the game."
"I want to play exciting football but I know it's a business and about money to get back to the Championship and back to the Premier League."

Impressive rhetoric from the new boss. Ought to get the plyers on board straight away. Actually looking forward to the next few games now (typical footie fan!)

'I want to build a club the fans can be proud of'
"I can only give the fans a team that makes them want to come and build a club they can be proud of"
"Every team is cyclic, has low points and high points. I hope the owner will see the team on the pitch, playing exciting football."

Can this group of players start the process? Can we build a team over a period of time? I hope for the group of lads they can be successful"I want some of these lads to stay the journey and play in the Premier League."

Which one of these applies:

he's here with the job of keeping us up and they've agreed an extension if he does
someone else is lined up but can't come in until the end of the season
SISU are off in the summer
SISU don't have a clue what they are doing

For what it's worth I think it's all about Mobray wanting clarity on spending budget. If it wasn't then he'd sign a contract and agree a release clause if a bigger club came in for him. It could be SISU are off in the summer. But we aren't that lucky.
