There has been speculation the EFL will prevent CCFC playing next seasonif they can't play in Coventry.
This is not going to happen in my opinion, I don't think they have sufficient control to do that.
I think it is worthwhile that the MPs find out what options are on the table as far as the EFL are concerned.

I doubt the efl will state publicly the options

I agree, if he had a semblance of a suggestion it may be beneficial but the reality is he doesn't have a dog in the fight.
As the days go by without a clear picture of what is going on behind the scenes I am inclined to say that the group that should offer an action plan are the ones with a vested interest. Us.

I do question the legitimacy of a statement like this. Surely Cunningham knows that in reality little can be done to resolve our plight with governmental intervention so what purpose does he have for speaking to the press? It seems to me he just wants to put his head above the parfait and paint a portrait of himself of being 'an MR that cares'. Maybe I'm being sceptical but bizarre to be coming out with it now.

It's not disagreeing with it, it's more asking what he wants them to do when calling on them.
He may be singing the right hymn but not sure what good it's going to do. Truth is politics and government both National and Local has never been such a shambles. Dominated by self interested, nest lining, expense fiddling, pension amassing vultures. No one trusts any of them any more do they ?

I don’t know why, they’re almost certainly cleaner than previous generations, we just didn’t have the means to find it all out in real time.
Now the curtains been drawn back and the facade of strong capable leaders has dissolved, and everyone knows we are all morons just flapping around.

So much would revert to that London centric bias again anyway. Government might sit up and listen if it was a Crystal Palace or a QPR going down the tubes but not one of those unfashionable back waters in the provinces............whose owners incidently are taking to court one of THEIR rugby clubs in a fashion.

The more I think about this the more I wonder if someone is pulling his strings to create a distraction.
Absolutely agree with the sentiment but I'm not sure what asking the culture secretary to arrange a meeting of Coventry and Warwickshire MPs, which surely he could do himself anyway, is really going to help.
He's a labour MP and we have a labour council who stated that Wasps ownership would not impact the football club, maybe that is where he should be targeting. Would expect him to have more influence there and while the council can't directly solve the situation they undoubtedly have influence over those that can.

That's not really the point, is it.
For how long have we complained that nobody sends a single message we can all get behind, that Coventry City should remain in Coventry?
For how long has it been criticised that there is too much partiality, and no re-iteration of this simple message?
For how long have we asked for the profile of this to be raised?
And then, when someone with a public profile, asserts exactly that, we decide to try and break it down, run it down, or look for holes.
As opposed to getting behind said unified, simple message and raising it still further.
We're fucking doomed.

Yeah but it would help if he says what they could do and how they should help.
I could shout that Theresa May and the UN need to help Coventry City stay playing in Coventry but it is just me shouting.
As he's an MP, surely he could say how they could help, what they have the power to do etc?

Alternatively, you start with the simple, unifying message and, once you get people behind it, you then sort out the detail.
Or... you argue over the detail, get nobody behind the core message, as a result everybody thinks nobody cares if the club remains in Coventry, and it goes tits up.
Good point we should all write to our MP's & ask how they will enforce stated Wasps zero impact on Coventry City football club for who the Stadium was created.

Is there a detail or is it somebody jumping on it for a reason? Can the people who he is calling on to change things actually make any difference?
