He's being kept in the dark because he's some Canadian idiot that knows absolutely nothing about football, he was on BBC C&W the other week talking about us signing 'franchise' players!
His nationality and working knowledge of the sport are irrelevant. He's not picking the team or scouting players, he's on the business side of the coin.
To be fair to him, when selling a business like CCFC in this example your not going to make it public. Especically after the King incident where they made it public and then things turned sour. But i know what you mean we all want to be kept in the loop, but these days it doesn't work like that, football has become a lot more professional both on and off the field.
He's on the board for crying out loud! He'd have a say in matters related to the manager, potential transfers and everything else. The reason we're in this is because of idiots like Brody in positions of power that clearly know absolutely nothing about football. Letting Scott Dann go for 2 million quid for instance! A football man like Ranson obviously knew that was a ridiculous thing to do that's why Hoffman had to talk him out of resigning!
Then Hoffman himself walked because of the decision to let Conor Thomas go, it was a board decision, a board that Brody was sitting on!
Ah yes, Ranson the retconned hero of the hour. The football man who hand-picked Aidy Boothroyd!
Looks like Leonard Brody has failed in his attempt to get onto the Football League board. This from July 5 Guardian sports pages....
"From Leeds United's ancient history to its present-day chief executive, Shaun Harvey, who has won the Championship representative's seat on the Football League board. The place became available after David Sheepshanks left Ipswich Town; his resignation from the club's board was confirmed at Companies House last Thursday. Harvey won eight of the 19 valid votes cast, one more than Bristol City's Colin Sexton. Karl Oyston, the Blackpool owner, received three with Coventry City's Leonard Brody one. Harvey now has a platform from which to push his strong opinions about youth-development issues. He is also a supporter of Championship plans to introduce a Uefa-style financial fair play system, which dominated the League's summer conference in Cyprus last month. John Nixon, of Carlisle United, has taken up the League One position on the board after Colchester United's Peter Powell stepped down."
Why would they have somebody on the board who lives the other side of the world?
Perhaps someone could give me a list of clubs that have a majority of "football people" on the board. People are on boards of football clubs because they've invested in them, and Brody is no different. He wants to see the value of his investment grow, so he takes an interest in the financial side of the club. Having met the guy, he's very much concerned that the club has potential to increase the commercial side of the income - to support the team.
By the way, when Dann was sold, and when Thomas went to L'pool, he wasn't on the board. He only came on after Ranson & Hoffman left.
Not true vi heard him admit the other day he came on the Board in a november but that was hidden and not announced by him and the Board until January
He had decided to work with a competitor...you can't have it both ways. nothing personal. I like Joe
