Is the interesting pattern that those who don't look interested, track back or don't look as if they are putting in maximum effort are deemed lazy? There's an interesting pattern about players who are deemed 'lazy'.
Agreed didn't have a good game at all. But too many players had a bad game.
Certain players like Murphy deserve some patience at timesand have earned the right to have a bad game or two as he's proved to be matchwinner.
Lameries is 21
They are unable to put strong tackles in. They are simply not that type of player. And was better than murphy yesterday.
coincidently both murphy and lameries suffer from the same thing, they are not willing to put a strong tackle in... They pull out everytime, so frustrating !!!
Or can Murphy only play well when the other forward players play well?
Cause and effect

Did you ever see Michael Owen putting strong tackles in, or Glenn Hoddle? Tommy Hutchison?
We can't expect them to be complete players, but we do need them to excel at the things they ARE good at.
Don't think I ever saw Tommy Hutchison put a tackle in.Right, but when we are under the cosh we need to defend from the front with all players making some form of contribution. I'm not necessarily saying strong tackles, but at least look interested. If Murphy isn't prepared to put a tackle in, and I really don't buy the idea that he doesn't tackle because he can't, then already you've lost some ground.
If you are a professional footballer and you don't have the ability to even challenge a 50/50 then you shouldn't be playing. That goes for every player on the pitch.
If we want promotion this season everyone needs to give it 100% at all times. I don't feel I even saw 50% of that from Murphy yesterday.
Lamaries was far worse. Far worse.
Thing is weeman, we can't give him credit for stuff he didn't do.No he wasn't.
Lameiras was unlucky not to see more of the ball in the first half. There were almost half a dozen opportunities where he could've been played in behind the full back only for anyone of our players to play the ball inside.

Its crazy the crap he is getting. Over the course of the season he has been, so far, one of our better players. Yes we want him to do what we know he can do all the time but if he did he would be in the Norwich 1st team. Wingers will drfit in and out of games all the time.

Passenger is absurd. Lamaries is never going to make it as a professional, Phillips was diabolical, Bigiamara is Ray Wilkins but worse but yeah let's call him lazy - I wonder why.
It is his fault that he mostly refuses to pass, and it is his fault that he can't be bothered to play competitive football by even putting a tackle in or tracking back (Stokes has been left on his arse many times when Murphy is in front of him). My thoughts are echoed earlier in the thread, but I'm really not pleased with his attitude at the moment. You could tell just looking at him on Saturday that he thought he was above having to put a shift in.
I think he needs a rest in all honesty, and let some of the other guys have a go. On his day he can be a very useful player, but I agree with the original poster in that he plays for himself a lot of the time. Earlier in the season our best football and most penetrating was quick passing and movement away from the ball. Murphy doesn't contribute to this.
