Music Pre/During/Post Match (1 Viewer)

Do we feel it is ruining the atmosphere? As we know the atmosphere has been declining over the last year.

The build up music of playing every players song doesn’t allow any natural atmosphere to be created before the game, leading to a flat start.

After a win, we play the same routine. Why? Let the fans sing for whichever player they what to and create a proper atmosphere. See the noise after an away win for examples. The lap of honour last year was pathetic, the club was playing their stupid music countering the fans singing.

On Saturday, the rain break had whipped the crowd up for the first time in the whole game. They were angry at the referee and it was a chance to make the game slightly hostile and really put the pressure on Swansea. Instead they played that rain song for a cheap laugh and as a result, the crowd turned jovial and fell flat after the restart.

I think we need to return to the fans dictating the atmosphere and not a predetermined playlist

What? I don’t even like We Live and Die but when the clapping starts in the verse and then the sheer noise of the chorus kicks in , it’s fantastic- unifying, menacing and loud. Don’t think we can have a better build up

Also the singing was great on Saturday until the first goal went in and you could tell everyone knew it was going to be one of those days…

This isn’t about we’ll live and die although I have my own opinions on how our home form has fell off a cliff since that started.

It’s the playlist before that and after the game that ruins the atmosphere. The ‘singing’ hasn’t been ‘great’ for a long while

Yeh think the general build up music to Live and Die is pretty poor, apart from Take me Home. Need more music with lots of energy.

Do you not think it would be better with no music? Let singers corner get the atmosphere going and set the tone.

I don’t need Tiesto telling me to get down to business

Atmosphere has been declining because results are no longer consistently meeting/exceeding expectations like they once were. I don't think the music has much effect.

We've lost players who had not only songs but decent songs that lasted a while and for players here a few seasons. They've gone and that's dented the atmosphere. Everyone too hung up on what's cringe or not wanting to be associated with eg the DK song or the Lati song etc. I get it with the Lati and I've championed a credible alternative but I think right now we just need to belt out all our songs even for Doug or Robins if you want him in or out it's irrelevant just sing loud and proud. The players need to give us something to sing about of course, but we can fo our bit and help. It's eons from the toxicity of a few years back, let's not go there again.

I think any song that includes City in it should be played myself,Stevie wonder Living for the City, Starship We Built this City, and recently identified Arcade fire City with no children in! Just a few suggestions from here!

Totally agree. It’s been one of my gripes. Why on earth they need to do this I do not know?
IMO the only music should be PUSB and WLADIT. Nothing else. It drowns the fans out and stifles the general atmosphere.

I tweeted the guy who does the music at the games exactly this, told him the music needs to be better before games to build the atmosphere.

For the Norwich game he changed the music before the gameand the atmosphere was pumping. I did tweet him after saying the atmosphere was so much better before a game. But for the Swansea game the music went back to what it was before.

I think it’s a case of him not listening even though he’s being told by fans who are pitch side that the atmosphere is poor before matches.

Whatever happened to the Darude - Sandstorm highfield road days?!

It’s about time the music man took note! It’s not all about him. We are paying the money and it is worth listening to us occasionally.

Exactly! He’s not listening mate, I’ve told him 3 times that the music has to be better, the one time he listened the Norwich game was pumping, now he’s reverted back.

I think we just lack the extensive songbook we used to have think of all the ones we lost in the last 3 years vs gained the quality is vastly different

If anyone thinks this is a weird thread, you're right. Another of Boosh' dodgy accounts trying to wind people up.

So we have established that it wasn’t a weird thread and was worth a discussion and a few posters actually agree.

So why was I banned again? I don’t hide that I am Boosh so announcing it isn’t a ‘gotcha’ I’m afraid
