Again it raises the question of leadership within the squad , who else is actively stepping up in training to take them? The fact Eccles is still taking corners is really bizarre, almost every single fan on this forum can see he needs to stop taking corners and yet Robins can’t see it. I also don’t want Robins out but on certain issues he really comes across as clueless.
To be fair the main one is wrightThey’ll be some finger pointing going on believe me behind closed doors. King will be wanting some answers what the root cause is. If it’s the recruitment then they’ll be gone despite robins saying he makes the final decision on signings.
Well he’s already put Dasilva on corners from the left-hand side. I’m not sure the alternative option on the right-hand side is as obvious as you think it is.The fact Eccles is still taking corners is really bizarre, almost every single fan on this forum can see he needs to stop taking corners and yet Robins can’t see it. Sheaf? No idea if can put in a decent corner but you think he should be capable and can't be any worse than EcclesWell he’s already put Dasilva on corners from the left-hand side. I’m not sure the alternative option on the right-hand side is as obvious as you think it is.
It has to be a mix. Has to be, surely. I can't believe it's just all down to Eccles being awful at set pieces. It has to be a mixture of some bad balls in, but also players not moving into the right positions too.If eccles is the best set piece taker at the club then that's abysmal
On the contrary, I’m sure he can.Sheaf? No idea if can put in a decent corner but you think he should be capable and can't be any worse than Eccles

I totally back Robins, but if it was simply a case of Eccles can't take set pieces and Robins continued to nominate him, I would be suggesting that the manager had lost the plot. And he clearly hasn't.
Sure some he is hitting far too close to the keeper, but others I think there has to be a miscommunication. It's the only thing that makes sense. Robins is an excellent manager. He's not an idiot.
So, Robins is clueless?Miscommunication over how many games?
That free kick he had, he just floated into the keepers hands.
Fair point but honestly Eccles’ corners are so consistently bad that we are genuinely at that level of wanting anyone else to take them. I’m absolutely positive that there is at least one other player in that squad that can cross a decent ball in from the corner flag.On the contrary, I’m sure he can.
“Can’t be any worse” is rarely a good strategy for success at this level
It goes back to a concern some of us have aired , who else is stepping up in training? Eccles cannot be our best option ,agreed . Someone within the group has to grow a pair and take charge , Da Silva , Sakamoto, Van Ewijk?Miscommunication over how many games?

Doesn't make sense. He's been such a fabulous manager for us.
You tell me ? No one knows what goes on behind closed doors but Josh cannot be the only player in the squad capable of taking set pieces surely? You would hope one of the wide players would be better? So they have to tell the manager he is wrong? Are you saying people are scared to take a corner/
Then the manager has to decide that and make it happen. You tell me ? No one knows what goes on behind closed doors but Josh cannot be the only player in the squad capable of taking set pieces surely? You would hope one of the wide players would be better?
AgreedThen the manager has to decide that and make it happen.
At this moment, it's a good starting point. On the contrary, I’m sure he can.

I said he has been putting in some poor balls. That was one of them.He floated an awful free kick in right in front of him.
Let's see who's on set pieces at the weekend.
I said he has been putting in some poor balls. That was one of them.
He can't be getting every single one wrong though. Some just be down to players bit making the right runs.
Like I say, it's a mix
That was a poor ball in. I said that.Where are they meant to run when they are floated in like that?
He did multiple the same tonight, remember two corners and free kick which were just chipped in to the box. Two were caught easily by the keeper and the other we had no chance of scoring from. That was a poor ball in. I said that.
oh its so boringgg mate its different every single year with hindsight, until one year it wont be and everyone will be like I TOLD YOU SO. Broken clock is right twice a day and all thatIt's clearly very, very different now than then. People need to stop wheeling out this excuse.
This time last year we had two of the best ever Championship players and a team fighting for every point.
Equally, we were actually pretty good in those early games. We battered Sunderland, Millwall and Hull at that time.
Well he only took, what, three corners tonight? Against Rotherham he took multiple short corners when it became clear that the crosses weren’t working. If Eccles can't put in a good corner, just go short and change the play. Why wasn't he told to do this?
Robins has hit his ceiling.
I’m sure Robins has some faith in his back room staff but DK should also have some culpability.Know your know your stuff mate sure there will be
can’t see DK being happy behind closed doors
King is a rookie who has been very badly advised by MR in appointing his mate to oversee the largest transfer income in the club’s history. Find ourselves in the drop zone at Christmas and I’m not sure even he will get by on ‘trust the process’, relegation would be disastrous with all the 4 year contracts we’ve handed out.I’m sure Robins has some faith in his back room staff but DK should also have some culpability.
I’d imagine that DK signs the cheques (so to speak) in that he has the ability to veto any transfer. He’s given MR and his staff a bit of a free hand by the looks of things and they’ve behaved like absolute fools.
I don’t care what model it is, Brentford or whatever but it’s fairly simple:
Scout and buy a number of lower league / surplus Prem / Scottish / European / foreign players with potential for about £1-£2m (eg Vik, Gus (success) Walker (not so but we could see the logic - age, had scored a few so tried and tested), Tats (let’s see)) and have a squad of 24 decent players to develop with a handful of old characters in the mix to lead the way. Couple of Prem loans if we need or they add something - no point developing someone else’s player.
It’s an obvious model, it seems, unless you are the CCFC recruitment team.
DaSilva, Lati etc. were good sensible moves. Tats bang on the “model”, MVE I could see the logic and even Simms on a structured fee I could understand.
13 million on Wright and Kitching is absolutely ridiculous. We desperately needed a midfielder or three and spending all deadline day chasing after someone we didn’t need (Kitching) is stupid. We could have signed Hyam back for that (I’m guessing) and at least he’d have brought spirit back to the squad.
How must Overson feel? Puts his hard earned money into the club he loves for sensible things that the Club needs and watches DK (it’s his responsibility ultimately) oversee abject stupidity.
Wright - stupid signing.
Kitching - stupid signing.
Not signing young talent to solidify the squad depth - inexcusable.
Plenty. We created 1 chance in the second half, not numerous. Continues to let Eccles take free kicks which are just a waste of time. I really am sick of hearing it takes time to gel. Boro lost there two best players aswell, they were poor at first but Carrick has got them gelled. As a manager, what did he do wrong tonight?
He's set a team out thats created numerous opportunities and conceded very few. Individual error by Wilson and then conceding an offside goal on the break.

The absolute frothing that was happening last year was the same and everything had gone to shit because we had sold Dom Hyam on the last day and O Hare had an ACL injury. It was sooooo different that year to any other time and had no idea how we would get through it
Get Adi a big fuck-off megaphone. Operation Premier League is on.On sky they were on about Robins being upset about the new rule in the technical area as Viveash is the voice.
When it was 0-0 we had no clue how to get back into the game and perhaps Eccles is the best at taking the corners in the squad...god fucking help us"Numerous opportunities"
Keeper didn't get his kit dirty.
When it was 1-0 we had no clue how to get back into the game.
I think he's struggling to fix it. The fact he's stood watching Eccles put those corners in and doesn't tell somebody else to take them.
He's had plenty to spend this year, he has no excuses to hide behind
Togetherness of the squad that was soft as fuck? Kids against menNot having that at all. There was a togetherness last season even at the worst of times.
You're actually right though, the squad is soft as fuck. At Millwall we caved under the pressure. Even at Hull Saturday, the fans got behind their team and we struggled.
Collectively as a team, we look like kids against men
And that's it unfortunately. We're stuck with lower championship/League 1 players due to no investment.
It will be very interesting to see the stance of the board (whoever that is) if we lose the next 3 or 4 or if we are 4/5 clear of safety by the World Cup.
You can still get around 4/1 for us to go down.
The team is weak, so what's the problem with people being proud of our support.
You’ve done @pusbccfc thereTogetherness of the squad that was soft as fuck? Kids against menLower half champ/League 1 players?
Yeh it was totally different last year
West Brom amassed more xg than us despite sitting on a lead for 75 minutes. We did not create numerous opportunities. Our best chance was created by their defender. As a manager, what did he do wrong tonight?

We created 15 shooting chances, which is considerable despite us appearing reluctant to pull the trigger. We dominated possession, dominated the position on the pitch, and made a good West brom side look largely pretty stale.West Brom amassed more xg than us despite sitting on a lead for 75 minutes. For all our possession/territory we looked toothless. Robins needs to be getting them to move the ball quicker and go from back to front faster to give our offensive players space to operate in.
Aside from the missed chance Wright had a decent game last night, but we’re so slow to get the ball to him that he’s crowded out by the time we even try.
