but for the mistimed one off fluke where he actually hit the target, Liam Kelly would be smashing 2!

just Googled him and you're right - Detroit. I thought Hunt was too and from NY Cosmos, but looks like he only went back out on loan.

How did Robert Page come off second best in an altercation with Michael Doyle? Post-hockery here, Doyle was hospitalised and lost his front teeth iirc.
Agree - something to do with women I believe. Page played the next day with arm in plaster as we got thumped at Leicester.

new quiz - a team of players needed
1. Played 1 game, kept a clean sheet after being called on as the GK got injured in the warm up
2. Most games without a goal for an outfield player for us in the modern game
3 Most capped english player to play for us
4 signed from and sold back to the same US team - scoring once while with us
5 Ran the rising sun pub in town
6 Came out 2nd best in a fight with Michael Doyle
7 Signed in 2007 - as far as i know he is still here
8 signed from the Maltese league - and its not Mifsud
9 played less that 45 minutes for us, and scored, never to play for us again
10 got sent off at half time for fighting with Kenny burns
11 played for us twice , his brother also played for us (ie he was sold and re-signed)
Is number 1 Clayton Ince?

Here's another random question - Before the introduction of the Premier League (1966 - 1991) we featured in Match of the Day highlights on 61 occasions. Did we have more wins, losses or draws in those games?

Probably losses as they'd only put us on if we were playing a big team.

Surprisingly not. I thought the same as you, and remember always thinking that we never did well in front of the cameras. Anyhow 25 wins, 18 draws and 18 losses. Pretty good considering we were a lower half team for the majority of that time period.

Based on 40 games a season over 25 years, 61 appearances is shocking isn’t it.

Maybe upsets against the 'big' teams?

Yes, that includes cup games too. 51 were league games, so basically 2 a season. The season we were on most was 80/81, when we appeared 6 times (including one cup match). In 68/69 we didn't appear at all.

We would have been on star soccer much more I guess with it being regional
Not sure when that started up however
The main game was always a midlands team at home. And then 5 minutes of a midlands team playing away

I don't think we were on Star Soccer that much either, although there were a lot of midlands teams for ATV to choose from. Anglia TV by comparison effectively had only Ipswich or Norwich, with Luton occasionally thrown into the mix, so they featured much more regularly.
