Just talking with Mrs BSB about how over time she has been ‘indoctrinated’ into supporting CCFC, not by me but by the experience of following the club for most of the last 10 years. Talking about how at games she tries to mentally will the ball to go in or stay out, can’t watch when we’re hanging on at the end and dislikes Wasps probably more than I do. There for most of the League 2 season including some bleak away days, but just got more into it. Reminded me of how I used to feel watching my first few seasons as a boy, with the same emotions at games and growing attachment to the club.

It goes to show you’re never too old to get hooked on CCFC.

My dad's friend. 66 years old. Used to go back in the day but is very much a lapsed fan. Probably been to the Ricoh once or twice. Got a season ticket this season and must have done about seven away games already!

My late grandad, moved down from the football mad North East in the 60s but ended up hooked and going for decades. Later years he always listened on CWR instead.

There’s something nice about seeing it happen in people of any age

The thing is, football is such a simple game, yet engenders so much passion.

On the odd occasion that it's possible (fixture permitting), I take the GLW up the Butts and we have a good drink and hope that Cov win.

In the summer, we go and watch Corley in the cricket. We have a good drink and hope that Corley win.

When we go to the football together, the game is the PRIMARY reason we are watching sport. At the rugby and the cricket it's on while we socialise.

I say this because 10 years ago my missus wasn't into sport at all. Now she is, but only football gets her really exercised emotionally.

I say this because 10 years ago my missus wasn't into sport at all. Now she is, but only football gets her really exercised emotionally.

Same for mine, she went as far as writing her final dissertation on our Northampton exile and I think got drawn in by the challenges the club was up against (and still is). She was genuinely really disappointed by the postponement today, in her own words when we win it makes her happy all week. It’s the sort of thing easily forgotten after decades or longer of support.

My 45 year old mate, from Cov but always a spurs fan…and previously a spurs season ticket holder. Growing up used to say we were shit…used to get some shit back for obvious reasons.
Have started going up a bit with him in more recent years. Took him up to watch the game vs cardiff this season. At one point in the second half, He had his hands over his eyes at and was saying “I can’t watch. I just know They’re gonna score”!
Says he supports Cov now.

It’s great to get people hooked on CCFC and convert them overtime! In our group there’s two ST holders now that were originally Liverpool fans until they started doing the away days with us for the piss up…

My dad is 70 had plenty of “fun” away days in the in the 70’s and early 80’s, lost a bit of interest until I wanted to go regularly in the mid 80’s got rid of his season ticket around 1989 and lost interest and hardly went. It was a real effort to get him to go to the play off final even, said at the start of the season this year he might get a season ticket then didn’t bother, I lent him my season ticket for a game and he got the bug and hasn’t missed a home game since the start of the season and has even got himself a half season ticket.
