He's come from another academy with a decent reputation. Looks good on paper
On paper I don't think it does. Its quite a low level role that he had a Villa.

However the club knows how important this role is to our very survival and I'm sure they have seen something in him that will help move us forward.
Its an interesting time for the academy, new heads and ideas are always a good thing !

I think its good that the club has acted quickly to fill the role. I wouldnt expect any great changes because of his appointment though. It is more a case of him fitting in with the academy structure and direction at CCFC not the other way round. But yes new ideas are a good thing

Agreed, we’ve replaced someone with 15 years academy manager/assistant academy manager experience with someone who’s never an held academy manager role and has been working as a ‘retention co-ordinator’ for what I think is the foundation phase?

But as you say he obviously impressed during the interview stage and it will be interesting to see how he does

What was Richard Stevens before he got the job here?

Been a few changes at the academy in the last year or so. Don’t think that’s rare at that level but with Rich Stevens leaving after eleven years as academy manager, his replacement has tough act to follow but new guy, new broom, fresh ideas nothing wrong in that, Mark Robins was part of the interview panel so it’s his man now.
