I'm all for strengthening the team.

Have to say though that some people need to step back & think before posting. Lots of contradictions on this thread about how useless the defence is, or this player is crap...can't score. We are a team that's lost continuity coming from perceived (by some) terrible at the start to great until the end of Robin's era. The fact is 3 games under Carsley/Oggy...5 goals for - 2 against (is that such a poor record?)...2 wins, 1 defeat...if they were all league matches that'd equate to 6 from 9 = 2 points per game & STILL enough to give us a good chance of play-offs.

We beat a poor Bury side, and a Crewe side who had already won the game and adjusted their tactics accordingly, their manager said that after the game, we didn't mix it up, they did, and battered us in midfield and won the game, again!

Gary LinekAr? Never heard of him.

I am not a Clarke hater. I thought he played very well at Crewe on weds, he showed he has the ability to be a main player for his and put himself about, however he was nothing short of dreadful on Sat. If there was an award to show you really aren't interested in a game he would have won it hands down. He loves to hide behind defenders and tries to kid us he is challenging for a ball. I don't think he jumped for one header on sat?

You've made an error in highlighting my error.;)

Doesn't that say a lot about the left side then? I'm well aware Cameron wasn't great, but Edj drifted out of position too many times. I'm going to show you a picture, if you don't think the 'left side' was at fault for their second goal - HINT: they're massively out of position - there's no point in even discussing this.

Good idea on changing your name to that, but since that episode, your credibility on suggesting who should/shouldn't start has took a knock.

Most of the time, i dont know what im talking about, so yh hahaha

Bury: sometimes it's hard to look good against a "poor" side; you can only beat what's in front of you; we beat them 2-0
Crewe: JPT...if you believe it was already won you are very naive - I would be most surprised if anyone connected with the Crewe team believed it. Especially given our away form. They probably agreed they had the edge but it was not beyond us. L1 match try did a job on us again...but hey! Lets us not given credit to anyone else having the measure of us. We must assume we're rubbish seems to be your line of thinking.
Sad really we have a Premiership pedigree...but we are a L1 club, playing with L1 players, against L1 opposition. Accept it...all we can do is strive to improve by gaining an edge over the others.
2 points average a game as we enter the critical phase is good.

Just like that waster Gary Linaker. Awful!!

To stick the ball in from 5 - 8 yards, you have to be positioned to do so. That doesn't happen by accident. Leon Clarke is one of our best players at the moment. His biggest crime is that he's not David McGoldrick.

It's hilarious because he's shit

Firstly, I'm voicing my concern that under Carsley, we have performed poorly in all 3 games under his caretakership, it's not just about the result there has to be performance as well, he stuck with an under performing side on Saturday and we lost 3 valuable points in the play-off race and Crewe and Notts County now have 2 and 1 game(s) in hand on us, 3 and 2 points behind us respectively.

Secondly, at 3-0 the tie was effectively won, I never said they knew they won, because shocks happen in football, however, if it was say 1-0 (to Crewe) or 1-1 for instance, they would've approached the game in a completely different manner, they wouldn't have been so conservative, instead of 'going for it'. Look, their manager said they were going to approach Saturday differently to Wednesday, they did, and won, says it all.

We need to shake up the team for Tuesday or we will get battered.

Crewe & Notts. C still have to win those points though. As for us getting battered...that's just a concern (shared) we have similar to any other game against the "better" teams. However, they have suddenly hit a less productive patch & no doubt are equally concerned. Shaking the team up can sometimes be counter-productive.

Tbf Southampton's youth system has been one of the best around with their youth team Bale & Walcott I'm sure this guy will possess quality

If it doesn't work, move on, but if you don't try, you won't know, trial and error, especially when you're new in the game.

If he's any good, I hope we can sign him permanently. Fair play to the board who have once again back the manager, even if he's a caretaker.

Lets hope he turns out like our last loanee who was signed by a caretaker... That man McGoldrick! ;)

Cannot fault SISU at all on backing managers with players this season.

However they are still the reason we are not in the top six.

I hope this is a wind up? Leon Clarke was truly awful! One good finish does not make a good performance.
Have you got curly hair, wear a big red nose and splash white and red makeup all over your face!

Clarke was good Saturday. He is a league 1 striker not a premier league striker FFS. His job is to score goals and bring other players into play. His hold up game is very good in this division, its the surrounding players who are letting him down.

He was also outstanding last Wedensday night at Crewe.

You're probably a fan who listens to CWR rather actually go and watch. I go to home games and away games when possible. Clarke has improved a lot and does his fair share of running. Its others around him that are letting him down.

HE'S A LEAGUE 1 STRIKER, remember that!

He aint Saints, he's Eastleigh produced! I mostly know about him from his time there. He was rated from a very young age but it was a bit of a surprise when he was picked up by Southampton. He's built like a brick outhouse and is a major threat from set-pieces. Will hopefully improve us in terms of defending them, too!

Sorry for taking the topic back on topic..

Not this fucking argument again.

Incompetent management has cost us, as well as MR *ing up a few times this season.

Ranieri style you mean? Tinker about? That'll give everyone something to moan about somewhere down the line lol

Tinker an underperforming side, that's logical. You can change a winning side, even though I see LC's record as 1-0-1 I discount the JPT game, and even then, we were unimpressive, and we played better when the subs came on.

Good loan signing. Also bringing back Cody is almost a new signing.

Aaron should help shore up our defensive frailities tbf. Good job SISU backed this quickly for 2 reasons:

1. We will be in an embargo next week
2. We need to try and get to those playoffs still...we need this very boost for the run in.

Noteable Bell is playing tonight U21's too. May be on the bench tomorrow?
Proves that whatever you say our squad has deep resources for the run in.

The club have done what they can and this should send a message to the players that we still beleive and have intent.
Should be a good game tomorrow.

In that picture.....Could it be argued that the right side are sat far too deep, allowing the Crewe players to sit in that hole!?? ;-)

Cameron is shocking. Full stop. Whole thread on Crewe messageboards after Weds about how bad he was/is. Excelled at conf North level.... but having experienced that level i'd say he has even gone backwards from there.

Cameron isn't great and I hope we replace him, but does anyone find it ironic that as soon as Edj comes back, we concede 2 after not conceding for 2 games? (Tenuous link I know, meant more of a joke than serious analysis, but Edj is shitter than Cameron) I've just watched the goal again, 'right side' is positioned well, 'left side' completely lagging behind, if the 'right side' were in line with the 'left side' the Crewe players would've been through on goal.
