Pretty nice for a first kit. Safe whilst giving a nod to the Sunderland ‘thing’.
Their piste la resistance will be the away I reckon - they’ll go retro 1992 with that.

Are we actually last? Genuine question.
No we're not. Just had a quick look thought the online stores of all the Championship teams. Derby released theirs today, Preston released theirs yesterday, QPR strangely seem to have worn their new kit last season, Sheff Wed was Monday, Stoke a month ago, Sunderland yesterday, Swansea yesterday and Watford today.

Off the back of that not really sure why people are acting like we're months behind everyone else.

I can't imagine many kids moaning they haven't got a kit they haven't seen and doesn't exist.

So what this thread is every year is a bunch of grown men complaining they've got to wait to buy a football shirt :ROFLMAO:

It's more for me to do with the fact that King insisted last years shit show was never going to be repeated

Kit was released on July 14th last year. We're almost at July again, and there's nothing to be seen.

That's my issue

Good point well made, but people can bury their heads in the sand.
Ultimately it appears to be the sponsor issue which is leading to the delay, I'm sure Doug would love it to be on sale🩵

Do we always release the new sponsor before the new kit? Or have we done it simultaneously before?

Not allowed to point that out though

I think our kits over the last few seasons have not been off the shelf and being a bit more bespoke leads to possible extended lead times. I'm Ok with it as long as you can get one before the start of the season if you buy them, its much better than having a generic template used by different clubs across Europe. It would have to be an absolute banger for me to buy one as I am in my 50s and 4 stone over weight, but I did make an exception for the training top last year that was released for the first game, strictly round the pool though.

I thought the complaint last year was the problems with actually purchasing the shirt and the mess of the pre-orders? Surely thats the bit he's referring to when he says it won't be repeated.

Can't see anything from King saying we'll have out kits out before every other club.

Got to say I have never felt more positive as a cov fan and almost everything seems to be going in the right direction but the kit and sponsor issue does seem to be a massive fuck up once again.

My only two moans would be not having a defensive coach in place and not having the sponsor sorted which given the fact we’ve know about both for a long time, really should have been sorted by now.

Pretty sure it was referring to the no sponsor. That's what delayed the kits.

Spoke to the head of retail on the store at the time, the shirts themselves were ready mid June, but because KOS had to be stuck on the front of 20 thousand shirts that was the hold up

If you remember we played a few pre season games sponsorless

He told me he and 3 others were frantically sticking them to the front of kit even the night before the opening game v Leicester. Hence a couple of bench players shirts had no sponsor on

And let's be honest it shouldn't be as hard as Tynan/ King make it securing a decent paying sponsor.

A play off final, followed by beating (let's be honest) Man United in an FA Cup semi. You'd imagine there's a fair few suitors. Coupled with the fact King himself said KOS was a 1 year deal, leaving it until the death again is amateur

Genuine question....how long does it take to stick on 20 sponsors to match day kits (and then fail)?!
