I mean what were they thinking with that design. Looks awful and looks to be to accommodate being build prefab (is this cheaper than the traditional method). If they rebuild old Trafford it should be for a stadium which at least reflects where they are from.

With Trafford being noted as an old industrial heartland, feel it could have ended up looking more like the proposed Chelsea Battersea Stadium instead of Butlins

I quite like the look of it. I assume the club badge is represented with the masts and tent being the sails.

I like the idea of what they've tried to achieve with the tent. If they have the turnstiles right at the front, the concourses will be massive and spacious.

At least it's not another bowl clone.

It would also be a security nightmare.

The renders make it look a lot like the area outside Wembley, which is not exactly the most hospitable or fun environment to spend time before a game.

You know, I’m pretty sure it’s all bollocks but would love to see if we did ever have any visual plans for the Warwick stadium or the redeveloped butts park stadium.

I know in both press releases they went on about them but as I said sure it was bollocks

The AI images look fantastic when the sun is bouncing off the big pristine white circus tent, family’s sat side by side on perfectly trimmed grass discussing how wonderful the world is next to the canal looks idyllic.

Did nobody get the memo of weather in the UK we typically get when football is played!?

Copy and paste a couple of shopping trolleys floating down canal side, beggars walking from family to family asking for spare change and it might be a slight better representation.

Can’t believe that’s taken somebody a significant amount of time/money and that’s the best version.

the FA are reluctant to play games away from Wembley as it is but if you're going to start using other stadiums then makes more sense to move around the country rather than have a northern national stadium.

The dirty reds stadium CGIs are purely conceptual. Trying to build the 'spires' of the circus tent would add an extra eleventy billion to the build cost.
100k means most people will be about 50m+ away from the pitch and will undermine the atmosphere bit like Wembley does. Trains from Salford to the south east for their fans/families on a Sunday evening is a big issue, but I guess significant number of fans are tourists and new hotels and eating in nice restaurants is their main focus. Seems like for all these big clubs it's mainly all about consumerism and global finance, rather than the raw match day experience and atmosphere at Cov. We must never lose sight of that.

I read somewhere yesterday that although the capacity will be around 100,000 that doesn't mean additional season tickets available but instead the 25,000 extra will be more corporate and more tickets available on match by match basis to members as those tickets can be sold at a premium rate. Those on the season ticket waiting list will continue to wait for members who don't renew or die.

What do they want the public funds for? Would have assumed it would have gone towards the infrastructure and as a return the club would give the local council a percentage of the apartments for either council housing or shared ownership.
