I probably should know better than to get involved in this now the thread has descended to where it has but here we go...

She has both publicly in the press and privately in meetings with fans – including at least one fan who I know to be an anti-Sisu/Sixfields boycotter – admitted to mistakes and apologised. Fisher & Labo have also gone on record publicly apologising too. I think it was Labo that came out with the immortal 'If I was a lifelong Coventry City fan, I'd be anti-Sisu too.'

(Not saying that it makes it OK, not saying that people should accept anything, just reporting some facts.)

The main concern I have with some of the apologies, is they seem (to me, at least) to be apologising for not being ruthless enough earlier!

By the same token, no one knows if its in the FL's controll either. What the FL rule could be a complete red herring if they have no authority to move the money in the escrow account.

whats the betting that the FL say yes X amount is to be paid and then set a new deadline for the amount to be paid, say at the end of the next season. that way the fixture list gets fulfilled and they get to wash their hands of it for another year.
in the meantime we're no closer to a move home regardless of what letters get posted on the club website.

Legally sisu owe ACL nothing. It's the football league that inserted a clause saying that ACL should receive an amount. This amount will be determined on 7th august.

Why did you not put in the £590,000 figure in your statement that the FL asked to be paid. You will come up with your normal rubbish about them not oweing that amount. How much are we talking about £300,000. The amount stopping us getting back to the RICOH. You should be ashamed of yourself giveing support to SISU over that small amount of money as SISU are loaded according to you. In fact it is only 3 years wages for one person on here.

Yes I do. Was pissed off it was only 10. All external parties need to be as hard on SISU as possible to drive them out. We won't go out of business, they will pass to a new owner who everyone can negotiate with.

My worry is that there are doubtless going to be preconditions to talks on both sides, that's not unreasonable it's just what happens. What worries me is if the preconditions to any talks are what the other side wanted to negotiate in the talks/use as a bargaining chip.

ACL have already said that they want the money, and Tim says that they ain't dropping the JR appeal(s).

No - the two are equal. The more short term pain the club endures to get rid of SISU, the sooner they leave - which is the key to a prosperous future. This assumption is central to my hatred of SISU and campaign for sanctions.

Yep, and every taste was fantastically sweet. These people have caused us all so much upset and disruption, with total impunity. How much sleep do you think Joy has losst because CCFC are playing in Northampton? None - because she doesn't care. Great to see these people getting a kicking after everything they have put the fans through.

A prosperous future? Mcginnity coming back? Richardson? Mr coventry dusting down his spark plugs? Yes our history is full of glorious owners and prosperity.

To wish relegation in a belief this would make us a better club in the future is insane.

Sisu can't/won't drop the appeal while it is still with the judge it would be silly for them to do so even after the battering they took. ACL could accept the money is in an Escrow but the fact this is still under SISU's control makes it unlikely that ACL will accept this as Ready for payment. SOOOOo it's still just a waiting game for these obstacles to be removed in my opinion.

statement and counter lack of statement isn't going to change this. just further muddying the water with PR BS.

If however SISU are refused leave to appeal yet then take the case further that will cause more friction between the parties

Sisu have the right to seek an appeal and to appeal the decision not to allow an appeal if it is so ordered. There should be a level legal playing field (pun not intended) for everyone and we shouldn't be looking to change that. There is however an element of "Pack it in Frank you silly bastard" (c)Hot Fuzz
about the decision to appeal given the language of Mr Justice Hickinbottom in his verdict which was fairly damming.

The way I see it Simon is that is ACLs problem to deal with. I don't see why it has to be dependent if they really are the good guys as everyone thinks.

We need a public meeting with both sides to explain why we have to wait.

If they just accept they aren't going to get paid then they may as well give the keys away like SISU want!
Totally self-centred & unrealistic IMO.

Don't put words in my mouth - I've never defended former owners/board members, they were not as based as SISU but still own a fair chunk of responsibility.

We can re-build as a club but only without SISU - THERE IS LITERALLY NO FUTURE WITH THEM AT THE HELM.

There seem to be a fair number on here that are wanting everything & everybody to capitulate to whatever SISU want just to get the club back in Coventry.

Imagine you lend a friend £1000 to buy a car, he doesn't pay you back. You'd just accept it right? Then when the said car breaks down - you'd even lend him your car wouldn't you?
That's the sort of mentality some are expecting of ACL.

No they're not. You've made it up in your head.

I think ACL should get a fair rent in return for what SISU want.

If ACL got an unfair (on them) rent, would I be bothered?

So you were shocked too? I would never wish a 30pt penalty on my own club, no matter who the owners were. I wouldn't wish it on any club tbh. Punishing the fans for the owners mis-givings.

I knew there were some didn't think there would be so many. This will impact on the numbers should we return I think we have lost a significant number of fans, you will get interest for the first few games then:thinking about:

Sadly I think you may be right. I don't believe the view that we'll have massive crowds on our return. Maybe a small jump to begin with, then a tail off.

If you were in ACLs position you would be well within your right to neither trust this latest open letter has having any genuine or sincere intent, nor would you be inclined to alter your position until you got what is a pretty significant sum that is already owed & overdue! I would be demanding full interest be applied too...I'd expect the full £590k & any appeals etc to be dropped too.
It's all the continued smoke n mirrors, divide n conquer stuff we have seen for a number of years.

It appears that SISU function on 2 unstated guiding principles:

1. Confuse, distress & destroy the enemy
2. Everyone is the enemy
