Stop the Clock,job done!
That would be great and when you hit the 90, like rugby continue until the ball is dead, be exciting in close games, if fouls are committed after 90 you keep going. Kicking a ball out of play to a massive roar to end the game and win!! probably need to shorten the game length though.

Couple of things I would like to see:

1. If a referee thinks the player going off the pitch has took an unreasonable amount of time leaving the field. He can restart the game and delay allowing the sub to come on by a similar amount of time.

2. Free kicks. Any ungentlemanly conduct by opposition, not retreating distance, standing over the ball, arguing with the ref can be punished. In rugby ref can move play 10 yards forward. But in football I would like the rule to be, the team with the free kick can move the ball in any direction and up to a maximum distance of 10 yards. This really could improve the threat from the free kick.

Re the free kicks we had that and then it was stopped. Funny how at the time after a few free kicks being moved ten yards further on all the arguing with the refs stopped.

I think the key is ability to move ball in any direction up to a maximum of ten yards - would really give an advantage for gobby descent.

It was odd.

Saying how the dissent and abuse of officials was a scourge on the game, then the one thing that started reducing it they removed from the rules. Almost like they don't actually care and prefer the talking point of it.
