Trouble is we all think we are tactical geniuses from the stands.If only Thorn had played this team/this formation or if he had only made his substitutions earlier/later the results would have been so different.However these theories can never be proven one way or the other.Yes we may done better,but is equally possible we could have done even worse.
However losing players of the quality of Westwood/King/Turner/Gunnarson and later on Lukas,was always going to make it extemely hard to stay up.Thorn probably did make mistakes,but even Fergie does that.Ultimately you can't polish a turd.
