He won't go for more money, if you watch his interview on SBP after signing his new deal, he said that he intended to buy a new place for his family in Coventry.
robbo i liked your statement as a laugh, sorry but saying he wont go for money is absolute tosh, i wish you were correct , but sadly it's all about money. He won't go for more money, if you watch his interview on SBP after signing his new deal, he said that he intended to buy a new place for his family in Coventry.
you are the naive one
bigi doesnt play for newcastle first team, nor will wilson straight away
its not a no brainer move at all.

Naive, really ?. if you are good enough then you are old enough. There have been plenty of players who have rose to the big occasion when signing for a big club. You are obviously a glass half full man, so what you are saying is you think that Wilson isn't good enough ? If you really knew what you were talking about then wouldn't you be a talent scout ?

what?
i said he wouldnt play right away imo
and this kid has been dogged by injuries all his career and stated many times how just playing week in week out is biggest priority.
the guy is also obviosuly obssessed with top goal scorers award(good thing) i cant see them giving up regualr play and accolades( in possibly promotion winning team) to play newcastle reserves for 6 months
any move available in janaury will probably be waiting for him in summer too.
Yes actually.
"It's all about money" - do you know him personally?
Firstly, young kids get injured a lot but as they get older and stronger they become more robust and not so injury prone. Even if you were proved right and he was playing in the reserves, do they not play week in week out ?
It may happen and it may not, but as you say he is very hungry and with that comes ambition and like I said, every now and some young kids take to the big stage like a duck to water. Who is to say Callum isn't one of them, he has two things that scare defenders to death, pace and power and on top of that he can finish and them's the ones that are like gold dust. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more clubs are keeping tabs on him, because there are no other clubs where both their strikers are the top scorers in the league.
The main difference between footballers and "real life" workers is that one awful/extremely unlucky tackle can end his career. He is riding the crest of a wave at the moment and deserves to cash in if the offer is there whilst also getting a crack at the big time.
In my opinion he would only get better if he were to be training with the likes of cabaye and ben arfa and coming up against collocinni every day in training.
Its sad to say but footballers have to look after number 1, I would love to see him stay and develop with SP and the rest of the squad however I would not begrudge him leaving if a Premier League offer was on the table.
I would be upset if her were to go somewhere like Birmingham/Sheff Wed/Sheff Utd etc.
your assuming he would go in first team, and also that chasing in is his priority.
Im assuming he would train with the first team squad, as bigi did when he moved. I would say Wilson is a better player than bigi was when he moved
Are you honestly being that naive. What young player who is hungry wouldn't want to showcase himself on a bigger stage with the prospect of earning 7 or 8 timers what he is on now. The only decent and hungry players who have stayed on at the clubs they were at as kids is people like Steven Gerrard, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes to name a few, but look at the clubs they were playing for. Of course he is going to say that he is happy at Coventry, would be a stupid thing if he didn't. Would have probably been in the bomb squad otherwise.

A move for Wilson would be too soon ... he's only just started playing regularly this season and would be a gamble for Premier League sides. Needs to be playing every game and also proving his fitness after a few injuries in the past.
Listen to yourself man! For example "What young player who is hungry wouldn't want to showcase himself on a bigger stage with the prospect of earning 7 or 8 timers what he is on now." Yes Callum may earn more money, but as much as I like Callum he sin't going to walk into the team in front of Loic Remy, which means he will either be showcasing himself in one or two places, the bench or reserves.
i wodner whos happier right now? bigi or wilson
as you say, a footballers career can be cut short at anytime, perhaps they would like to look back on a career full of actually playing?
Maybe I am wrong, but if your intention as a player was to leave the club you were playing for why then sign a new deal to stay at your existing one? Wouldn't that just make things much more difficult to move on on? Plus listen to Callum's interviews "A matter of when not if" is one line he came out with, really sounds like a player desperate to leave for the Toon!
Ok, I'll ignore the condescending tone in this post and the other. The point I am making is that if a player is hungry enough and believes in himself and his ability, then why wouldn't he think he could do a job with a bigger club which is much higher up the league than us (I did say in another post that I'll bet it's not just Newcastle looking). As someone else says, playing with international players must be a dream for a player like Callum. If it was Newcastle, they are not exactly scoring goals for fun are they. Look, I don't want to bring this thread down like what happens in some of the others, all I saying is that good young players who are hungry want to progress and if they can do that somewhere else earning a lot more money whilst they are at it, why wouldn't they. There is no real loyalty in the game anymore and what does he really owe us, if he wasn't here he would be somewhere else. If he did go (as I also said previously he may not), who could blame him.
Theres a big difference between a player desperate to leave, odemwengie, and a player being offered a contract/opportunity that is too good to turn down, bigirimana
Is that the distant call of a bigger pay cheque I hear in the distance?
Sadly, this is the way of the footballing world and , come January, we may find ourselves a few players light.
its not the case for every single player in the world.
thats all anyone is saying, there is a chance he might not go.
Agreed, but can you name the last player that we owned that turned down an offer from a higher placed team?
